Sure and it does not redefine the issue of raising up children for your dead brother either...
And many other issues that I could name.

Hmm. Who do I repent for? My Spanish ancestors that raped my indigenous ancestors?
My indigenous ancestors that worshipped idols and committed human sacrifices to false gods?

Do you suffer from compulsive, violent, sexual urges from which victory remains elusive?
Do you suffer from a constant drawing, or temptation, to "dabble" in idolatry or the occult?
Are those sins effecting your life, your family, or society at large in any manner today (hatred, violence, pain, oppression, loss)?
If so, what contribution can you make to heal the effects of those ancestral sins?

What I'm arguing against is your comment that if we don't repent for our ancestor's sins that somehow we're "implicated" in their sin.
I completely disagree. There is no biblical or spiritual requirement or benefit to do this, other than to make the person doing it feel better about themselves. It's vanity. It's self-serving. It's taking liberal politics (reparations, apologies for ancestral wrongs, etc) and trying to apply it to christian living.

Yes. I just have this urge to hump your leg like a dog and read tarot cards, laying on a pentagram surrounded by lit candles.
When it’s over I’m sure I’ll feel like a conquistador.
