OK Timmy... how would YOU like God to communicate to human beings? What would be the preferred method of communication that you would like to see between God and humanity? What would it take for you to believe that God had indeed spoken?
I don't think God has communicated with us. If he were to see a need for that, it would have been a better method. Implanting the message into everyone's head, for example. (No, he hasn't done that. Don't even.)
If you hear a voice, you cannot know if it was God or a delusion or a trick by someone else. You cannot. Oh, you think you can know? Well, so do lots of others who have experienced this. Some of those people have killed people on God's orders. Were they right? (Some of those cases are recorded in the Bible. Some in modern day news reports.)

Timmy, so I guess if you weren't physically there during the Battle of Grunwald, Gettysburg, the Japanese invasion of Nanking, The Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890, all the way to what really did happen on 9/11 any (or all) the reports could be bogus? Speeches through history, conversations that were supposedly recorded. Are they just that, supposed conversations? Could all the eye witnesses be embellishing, or flat out liars? We who study history do it as an investigator, constantly looking through the primary sources, and checking out information from a plethora of different scholars concerning the different points in history. Yet, the Bible isn't just about history, but it is the history of a God and His covenant people. The Book like many other sacred books aren't meant for everyone. Because the Bible's contents are only for the sincere devoted follower, and those who aren't sincere, the Bible is a book filled with blank pages.
I am much more trusting of historical records when they deal with ordinary events -- elections, bank robberies, marriages, deaths, treaties, etc. -- than supernatural.
If you believe reports of God speaking, which reports do you believe? You can't know. You cannot. You do think you know, and you have made guesses, but that's the best you can do: guess. You have reasons for choosing the Bible over, say, the Quran. Muslims have their reasons, too.

There comes a time in every mortals life when we will all find out. Sadly we won't be able to come back and have anyone write a book about it, or make it into a movie. All proof will be able to be examined on that day. I just hope everyone makes the right life choices for that trip. Won't be any "lol" smiles to post on that day.
