Re: I ask you to accept me

We must keep in mind that after Jesus gave a speech in the gospel of John many of his disciples walked no more with him.

They could not handle his words.

Some people have left Christianity and will continue to leave Christianity.
Even preachers have fallen by the wayside.

John... I don't know you, and haven't really interacted with you, but I have read your story that you posted. I am not here to judge you, but to tell you that I will be adding you to my prayer list.

I will continue to send up prayers for you
John.

It really has made my heart sad to
see you post some things that you have.
I wonder if your wife and daughter are
following you in these decisions you have
made?

Re: I ask you to accept me

Everyone knows the outcome of my own walk, how I have been all over the map doctrinally within Christianity. But, no one knows the depths of the pain I endured during that time. It took me a long time to come to grips with the abuse, the pain, and the wounds I received from the house of my friends, even some local UPCI pastors who think themselves so high and mighty that I was not even welcomed to visit their church, even after I openly repented.

But, I remember, how Jesus would always work in me to welcome me back, to use me, and get Himself glory out of my life. A lot has changed, and I have been more or less finally freed from so much confusion, delivered from the grudges and pains of my past, and open to stop being a man pleaser, but have humbled myself under the mighty hand of Jesus to want only to please Him and Him alone.

Said all that to state this. The direction I took was such as John has went. I did not go as far, nor as deep, but I have been there. But, something happened one day that changed my life, and it came when in the midst of the mess I was in. I was in my room, and I cried out to God with three words, "Help me Lord!" I could not figure things out on my own, and I was tired of the war. Instead of venturing down the path I was on and going lower, Jesus raised me up, beyond trust in human intellect and man's ideas, and into a freedom of belief, belief that every word in the Bible is true, and that I needed to shut out everything else and believe that what God said He meant.

John, I am going to be honest. Man, this is the wrong path. It is fraught with pits and snares, downward spirals and personal damnation that will destroy you. As a man you showed great compassion for in the past, allow this man to show the same to you. Instead of looking to the things of this fallen world, the intellect of a heart that deceives, and relying on carnal ability to reason things out to lead you to this pagan lie, turn back to Christ alone. Repent and be converted John, because as sure as the sun rises and sets, Christ will accept and love you back. He does this, John, and despite all the pain and abuse in your own life that led you to this way, you can be healed and restored back. Of all people who knows this, I do. And now, I am not the same, and never will be the same. John, please receive this in the spirit it is written, that leaving this way will only get your life in a deeper downward spiral.

UnTraditional - your post speaks love and truth in a wonderful way. I too am praying for John that he will find himself back in the arms of Jesus, and hoping that he has just found himself in a pendulum that is swinging wide, and that it will come back to center itself by trusting in the Only One who is worthy of our trust.

Re: I ask you to accept me

If Jesus had not shown me His love and His truth when I cried out to Him, I would probably be near dead or absolutely worthless. I have no choice but to show that, stand for truth, but show love as well. I just hope I continue to do so, and be light to one and all.

Just a good old fashioned reprobate.......

Go ahead and pray for him if you like...but if he really feels the way he says he does I seriously doubt prayer is going to do any good. Waste of your time and breath.

His comments about Christ and the Bible in his last post were sheer blasphemy...and I dont have any time for that garbage.

Re: I ask you to accept me

I took a little time to read JA's last posting on here, and my heart is definitely grieved. A rejection of Christ in such a manner, and I am going to be honest, is usually a sign of demonic oppression and possible possession. When someone goes full fledged antichrist, it is normally a sign of intense demonic attack that has worked. This is why we need to keep JA in prayer, because as long as there is breath, there is hope.

The tree may be withered right now, but it may still have some life. Let nuture and fertilize the tree of truth in his life, binding the work of the devil and the flesh, and loosing grace and healing to his life.

Go ahead, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.
