What in the world is going on down there? It seems the DS is threatening to remove a pastor who openly admitting having a tv on his website. The DS is supposedly bringing an entourage to remove this man within a couple of weeks. He can do this because the church is affiliated.

In the meantime, the church board has voted to disaffiliate immediately. Now the full body is going to vote on it.

Couple of thoughts here.

1. It was silly for the man to go against the bylaws he agreed to follow.
2. It was silly for him to admit it on the web.
3. I can not believe they are going to prosecute, considering the current political climate.
4. The org is about to lose another church, and lots of money, over tv.

The whole thing is crazy. All over a little box that will soon be called a computer.
Is this a repeat of 30 years ago, the Texas District forced Mark Hanby over the TV issue, the church simply disaffiliated. Unless the church itself is calling in the District to remove the pastor it will be totally counterproductive. Maybe the district wants to force this church out??? It's got to be South Texas.

They should excommunicate the pastor, shut down the church, and not allow any of the saints a letter of transfer!

Again- odd that you, who stated you grew up with TV in a minister's home keep calling for blood here.

You don't need a tuner to download videos of tv shows .... NO DIFFERENCE ....

I CALLING FOR A FINAL SHOWDOWN ON THIS SILLY ISSUE .... it's time to move on.

EEEXxxxxactly. All you need is to go to Google video or any of the television station websites and most of them have shows you can watch online.

ORRR . . . you could download entire shows from iTunes.

Hmmmm . . . wonder how many hell-fire anti-television peoples watch downloads from iTunes.

Will the certificate of excommunication be suitable for framing? Will the church members retain their birthdays?
