OK ... not sure exactly what your point is, nwlife.
My point here is pretty simple. If you hold that a key doctrinal position is true, then your choice of who you bring into your pulpit should reflect that, rather than compromising your convictions. And if you hold that a particular position (like Trinity/baptism into titles) is false doctrine, then you shouldn't bring a false doctrine preacher to preach to your people.
Do you disagree with that? If so, Please tell us why.
And "reversing the scenario", as you put it...if a Trinitarian pastor was to refuse to allow a Oneness preacher in his pulpit, then, even though I disagree with his doctrine, I would still respect the fact that he is being true to his convictions. (No inconsistency there at all, in my book.)
So, based on your response to my post, what are you really saying? ...that we should allow Trinitarian preachers to preach in Oneness pulpits? And if so, why?.. would it be because, as you say, if we "reverse this scenario... you have some of the trinitarians saying the same thing" ? Why would it even matter what 'some of the trinitarians' would say? I'm not sure why thats even a relevant issue.
Fact is, either we're going to be Apostolic or we're not. Either Oneness/
Acts 2:38 matters, or it really doesn't. Either we hold fast to what we know to be the truth, and resist compromise, or we don't.
Frankly, I'm not going to be a part of any church that brings a Trinitarian to the pulpit to preach to me. I don't know if you're ok with that kind of thing, but I certainly am not.
