He was not put in an awkward position. Good grief.
Besides while you were busy trying to be clever you forgot to answer the question. If deception is lying then don't ever throw a surprise party.

I'm not the one who said "deception is lying." I'm all for surprise parties.
Signing up for an email address as someone else and using that address to forge a name on a public document? Not the most pleasant kind of surprise, even though EA was a good sport about it.
Did you read this post?

I think what TJJJ did, while humorous, was very unethical. The act involved deception and outright lying.
At any rate, my name is removed and all is well with the world.

As for being "touched in the head"...I'll let you stick with that opinion if you want, but I care because some of the men on that list are men I know, and their collective mindset can and does affect me and mine, both directly and indirectly.

If the person asks you "are you planning a party for me" and you say no, then YES you are lying. Planning a party and not telling them is a surprise - not deception.

I wasn't confused the resident Bratt responded to it.
What about when you pretend your taking them to one place and your really taking them somewhere else?
The fact is their are several places in Scripture where people lie. Not telling everything you know and deceiving someone is not lying.
Just today I reminded a client, we are not offering information. We are presenting our side and we have no obligation to volunteer information.

I know you didn't say deception was lying but you inserted yourself into what I said, so it was a fair assumption that you were taking that position.
Public document? Not exactly, it was a web page. It wasn't like we produced a gay marriage for him in Vermont and registered it with the court clerk.
Hey now that would be funny.
Did I read what post?
Eds?
Ed is more of a drama queen than my 12 year old.

Depends. If my son comes home dragging his game bag and says with a sad face, "Dad we lost." And then a minute later lets out a war whoop and tells me how he hit the game winning RBI.
