Why have the United Pentecostal Church been using the medium of radio, through the harvest time broadcast for over 60 years?
When they started to reach out, to stations to carry the harvest time broadcast.
Radio was the medium of the lost for that day.
Along comes new technology that could reach so many.
Yet we say we do not want "our message" to go over the TV broadcast waves.
When most of the "our" churches can't even reach the folks on the street their church is located!
I would say the only argument you might want to use, for staying off TV.
Is the fact you haven't even reached your own back yard yet.
So why try and reach the world beyond our forgotten steeples.
Jesus preached from the boat off shore.
So the masses could hear him. His voice carried further into the crowd coming of the water.
He preached on the mounts, so the masses could hear him.
He used the technology of his day, called the laws of nature, to enhance his voice.
He used the temple that represented less than what he came to fullfil.
Yet he used that medium and gathering to preach...
He also went to sit with the lost and outcast.
Many today would never think to visit and speak at a temple, where it represented less than their message.
Because to them they do not love "The" message, they view that temple as below them..
Yet Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.
How will they, those you call lower hear without a preacher?
Many would not be seen with the lost or the outcast.
I watched the video and he did just that, he was confident in "The" message, and the Lord will bless him for it..
You should love the message, and be so confident in preaching the cross, that no place, medium or gathering would be beneath your sharing "The" message...
The UPC missed their moment, they have argued this TV thing for years, I can remember the whole Mark Hanby and Kenneth Phillips thing years ago. They were treated awful for trying to reach the world.

LOL! You sound like a tattletale! LOL! Why clutter his life with inconsequential conversation? Nothing said here could possibly affect his life in any way. I'm sure he has many more important things going on in his life, Sandra.

I absolutely don't see a problem with using television as a generic technology. I would be just as comfortable broadcasting there as I am when we broadcast online. My own personal issue (and each of us have to decide our own I guess) is that I don't think I would be comfortable on Trinity Broadcast Network.
I know that I don't fit neatly into some of the traditional boxes in that I am more liberal in some areas and quite conservative in others. This may just be my own personal hang-up, but I would be more comfortable on another network and would wholeheartedly support an Apostolic Channel of any kind.

Let me just add that this is not an attempt in any way to criticize Bro. Johnson. Everything I've heard about him has been impressive.

Well, in that case, let me say that Rex Johnson is a fine man! He's been in the fire and has come out as gold. We have no negative thoughts or criticisms. [ Just trying to make up for any who were impolite Bro. Johnson ]

I saw it and thought it was great. There was no big deals made about baptism or salvational issues, etc. He did fantastic and hope to see him back on there soon. Wonder how the book sales went. I bet it is an awesome book! He explained the thought that is the primise for the book...fantastic thought that came out of a bad situation.

You have obviously gone charismatic.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Great....... Pastor Johson understand you can not be put down for sharing your love for Jesus Christ, the lost and those in need. No matter the format or place that you have the opportunity to witness. God bless you and yours..
