This will also be the last thing I will say to you... you have a total of 23 posts. Of which 20 of them are totally negative or demeaning to someone or something. You have had absolutely nothing positive to add to this forum so far. So until you do I think you have very little ground to criticize a word I say.. And I challenge you to show me one thing you have said of ANY merit!!!!
BLESS YOU!

Re: Ventura, California Family Camp Meeting
I went Thursday....Don't know if I should mention the preachers name but he left the UPC WD many years ago..so Cal
He was preaching on Elders and Authority. He started off weaving a polemic that has knowledge being akin to Wicca...if you are a young person it's wrong for you to know more than your elders. You should not make decisions based on what knowledge you have, even if it surpasses your elders...that is Wicca.
Lead up to saying the stuff we do to reach youth is wrong..of the spirit of WIcca.
As an example he gave renting out the Skating Rink and replacing their music with Christian music. He said he did not know what to do because other churches were doing that and he just did not know what to do...so he called an elder...up Norther Cal for advice and the elder said "I won't let my kids go to those" and that settled it for the preacher.
I didn't hear anything really about Jesus..obeying, following, praying, fasting, reading the word....I heard a message that gave near absolute authority into the Pastors hands.
The worship was alright....of course there were no modern songs.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

If I were a visitor to that church service and had never been exposed to OPs before, I think I would have had names running through my head like Jim Jones etc.
