Flu, huh? My daughter called a few minutes ago from the other side of the country just needing to hear her mom's voice. She's been sick since yesterday afternoon, vomiting, fever, chills. I can't do anything for her -- she's way too far away.

Hope you're feeling better soon. As always, I enjoy reading your thoughts and ideas.

Granted, I didn't read through all - what - sixteen pages, but the bolded and enlarged text seemed to have escaped the first several pages of posts.

I guess when all else fails, just be agin it. Doesn't matter whether it's available now or will be available 50 years from now - be agin it!

Hey A-POMO I haven't asked you this yet. Why do you have Bono as your avatar? Have you still not found what you are looking for?

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Question Re: Can any WPF'rs explain:

I wonder why, when television first came out, didn't the UPC use it as a witnessing tool instead of marking it a tool of the devil. I would think that if we could take what man meant for evil and turn it for good, things would be alot different today and we wouldn't be having these conversations. I have heard that when the radio first came out it was a sin to have one. Somebody tell me what the difference is between television programming, internet programming and radio programming. I have heard conversations and songs on the radio that would embarrass the most imorral person and yet alot of churches have radio programs. I truly fail to see the difference. Can anyone explain this to me to where it would make any sense?

haha. Nope, that's why I'm located @ a place called vertigo where I can't tell up from down most of the time. It's that whole slippery slope thing.

My burden and passion is to connect the Gospel of Christ to emerging, post-modern generations. I admire the way Bono and U2 are able to connect with PoMo's and get them excited about the God and the divine ethics. I find him to be inspiring.

Have you checked out Reclaiming the Mind ministries yet? They have a blog called Parchment and Pen and just finished a series on the Emerging church and post moderns. LOL Here's the link.

The blog also has a video clip of "Zacharias, Mohler, and Sproul on Emerging". My favorite quote was by Zacharias: every shrimp has it's puddle. I also agree with Mohler concerning truth.

Is he perfect? No.Are we?Umm...no!But he has shown our world how to love others and bring food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless, orphans, widows, and the sick and asking for nothing in return.
Wow!I feel like I've read something like that somewhere before.Could it have been in the bible?

Seems kind of rude to laugh at what a persons might see as their inspiriation. You never know what someone might be going through and by what vessel God may choose to use in order to speak to them.
