Ok what I do not get, is rent is about the same around country basically.

We pay 1900 for a large 5 bedroom home.

A 3 bed 2 bath is about 1250-1600 a month.

Other states are about the same, except! The wages are 1/3 to 1/2 what Ca is...dont get it!
Really? I had heard that in TX at least, the rent was considerably cheaper. Anybody from those parts want to chime in? Enquiring minds want to know!

AG, where are you?

I am curious myself.

Perhaps its the resource I am using--craiglist.org

Whom every is using it, perhaps they are basing their rent on what other communities are using....especially the higher bracket ones!

Maybe that's it, because my daughter was considering moving to Houston for a while (she has family there) and when she was looking online at apartments (maybe that's it also, the difference in between houses and apartments) they where much cheaper than they are here.

I would say that Jeanie's right on the rent part...although you can find some much cheaper...depends what you call "decent"

Perhaps the difference is that you can buy for the same payment...it was a no-brainer for us to buy.
