There's a lot more to their leaving than just TV. That WAS just the latest thing. And to say that it isn't going to matter... oh, it most definitely will.
Any organization is defined by the kind of men that both 'run it' and 'populate it'. It can be moderate and balanced only as long as there are a relatively equal number of both parties (cons & libs) involved. When the cons leave... the org MUST become more liberal... that's a fact borne out by numbers and unable to be argued with. If you doubt that, just imagine what the vote would be were it held in March...
The numbers that will remain and the lines they fall across are in fact much more important than the "VERY conservative" man in ________ who has 400 in his church and 200 in his daughter works. The only people who care about those things are those who pastor close enough to feel the heat... LOL
Like it or not (and some will, some won't) the UPCI WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. And as long as you realize that it is not THE church, but rather just a PART of the church, you'll be fine too ;-)

Amen, and another thing, the idea that all the GOOD men are leaving, and those who are left will all be somehow lesser men of God?? Give me a break, I don't necessarily feel like those who are leaving are wrong or bad, but to think that they hold the cornerstone on salvation??? Come on.

Amen, Amen, Amen!
Georgia District will be just fine. There will still be Conservatives staying in the organization.

That is right! There will be good men from all viewpoints left when the dust settles. I for one am tired of hearing about the sinking ship and all that garbage. I don't think the UPC is the be-all and end-all of the church by a long shot, but I don't think it is going down either!

If this were his thread this is where rkentsmith would post something like;
"15 pages
147 posts
And the UPC still needs a healer."
(Everytime I look at his thread and his ominous posts every few pages I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Truly the "oh the drama" smiley should be used there)

He didn't say they were lesser men. You implied that.

I'm sorry, I guess I got confused by the implications of what he was saying......... AND, just to be clear, I never implied that those staying were lesser men, I don't happen to believe that by a long shot.
