I love to bowhunt but I love gun hunting even more. I suspect the reason is that the main gun season, which is only 9 days long, involves multiple family members and friends all getting together to have a good time and its full of tradition. Whether we shoot deer or not, we have a good time.
My 76 (or maybe its 77) year old dad will be coming in from Arkansas to rejoin the hunting gang for yet another season. I cherish the times with my dad.
It is indeed COUNTDOWN TIME!

There is no doubt that you are a daddy's girl!

I've gone and done it now! I'm on Facebook!!!
We had a nice hunt in Utah. Four generations, from my 82 year old Dad to my 6 year old grandson. I was priviledged to have my Dad, 2 sons, 1 son-in-law, and 4 grandsons, to camp and hunt for a week in the beautiful Aspen and Fir thickets of southern Utah. At 10,000 ft elevation it doesn't get much better than that! We brought game home, although no large trophies, the memories were our biggest trophy. Here's a photo of one of my grandsons with his first Buck. We also rode many, many miles on the famous Paiute Trail that went by our camp. I'll post more later. Sorry if any may be offended by pictures of dead animals!

I know some guys who are so into this type of thing, they go for 4-5 weeks at a time !

We were there for 8 days and we have gone for longer times but this time we planned the trip for the younger ones and didn't stay so long. This is something we have done for the last 40 years as a family thing in Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming. By the way, wave real big at the cameras tonight because I'll be watching!!!
