Some of you have been hanging around the charismatics too much if you are running into that attitude and spirit.
We have our problems in the Apostolic movement, but by and large, this isn't one of them.
I have been put up in fine hotels some places I have preached.
I have stayed in oastor's homes and humble evangelist's quarters in some places.
I have been taken to fine restaurants in some places, and have eaten everything from cabbage soup to baloney sandwiches in others.
I have been paid very well in some places, and have preached for free in others.
And I really don't know that any of it made any difference to me. I was happy to try and be a blessing.
I am neither ashamed of being blessed, nor too high and mighty to preach in storefronts.
And I think I am just like most of my brethren.

I'll see your "take purse" and raise you one "shared purse".

First.
I am not looking for a place to preach.
God has been EXCELLENT to me.
Home missions has been part of my burden for years and because of that burden I have preach home mission revivals that have seen churches double in a matter of weeks.
For that I received no offering from the HM church, being independent, there was no "district" offerrings, but God would lay us on a pastor's heart and the checks would come, bills would be paid and a HM church would have a revival.
Maybe some need to pray and then PAY for a revival at a HM church.

Excellent post!!
We traveled far and wide on two deputations dependent on offerings for our living and we were well provided for. If it happened that an offering wasn't very good at one church then at another one on down the road the offering more than made up for any previous lack.
Like you we've felt like we were treated excellently through the years. But then ........ out attitude was that of a servant. If you have a servant's heart and attitude you don't expect a LOT but you do know that when you serve the kind of MASTER we do, you'll be well taken care of.

It's called "trusting God", something most know nothing about.
The local HM church (just like the older churches) sometimes NEEDS a new voice saying the same thing.
The HM church some times need a series of HIGH services without the added expenses of a meeting.
The problem arises over finances.
The HM church just can't afford an evangelist and still pay the bills.
That's where praying pastors in prosperous churches come in and take the load.
One pastor told me later, that one of his greatest memories was calling the HM pastor on Monday and hearing the EXCITEMENT in his voice as he said "we had new vistors and 2 received the Holy Ghost".

Think that the rest of us could learn it from you?
Just wondering.

Well I am not sure that it's something "taught", but more learned from experience.
Sorry, I certainly didn't mean to come across that I was a qualified to teach anything.
Just related a few experiences.

and that is what we have experienced for 40 years on the field..God always makes a way...We are glad to help anywhere. Money has never been our first thought for God always provides. We try to stay in His will.
I am deeply grateful to the many folks that have given to us far beyond the call of duty...
