I have had my share of bad deals, but I have done what I could to move on. I have always kept my devotions if higher than the local church, or tried to adopt the local church is higher than mine. Coonskinner has told many times that his ministry made room for itself with very little prodding on his part. This has inspired me to redevote myself to God and allow Him to make the advances.

It is a challenge for sure. Hearing Matt tell of a DVD created of "24" TV shows and then viewed and discussed was alarming in how far some have gone to circumvent the rules. I am sheltered from much of this, being behind "a 150 curtain of natural barrier." Maybe Thad has it wrong, that I "need to get out more." Somethings I don't miss for sure.

I was refereing to general use of the word "idiot" meaning one devoid of understanding or intelligence. "obey them that have the rule" means Prove to me what you want, and I will then go a thousand miles beside you. Simply state a wild hare idea with no Bible basis and I have some issues.

Hey Kutless, no need to apologize. I am with you Friend. The inconsistencies are maddening, but you know, no matter where you go in life - church, job, social clubs - all of them will always present some form of inconsistencies.

Please know ministry is imperfect. Even the best of us are inconsistent at some times.

no offense PP but here is another pet answer.

I agree. My buddy said in a message last week that if you think that the church didn't have any problems they arrived as soon as you walk in. I understand thatno one is perfect. The whole point to this is the ministers that submit a disclaimer should also provide that for there saints. And maybe they do.

And also the thing that you and I disagree on and that is if you don't line up with LB you are a hypocrite.......

I'm not saying that there aren't any inconsistencies in the way things are conducted.

But at the same time, in my opinion, it pays to not focus on what one sees as "inconsistencies" with individual pastors who are signing the affirmation statement "with exception." To me, that's lashing out in the wrong direction. Its one thing to say those pastors who want to go to a baseball game need to leave the UPC if they attend a baseball game, but its a colossal task to leave the UPC (not in terms of paperwork, but in terms of relationships, etc.). And as long as the stated position of the organization is that one can sign the AS in that manner, what's the beef?
