As President Romney will have a different base of supporters he must satisfy to be re-elected.

It is always a miracle when a Republican gets elected in a Northeastern liberal state so no I am not shocked that the pool of people he had to choose from in MA were liberal.

Again I don't know anybody that says Romney is a conservative. He is an old school Reublican moderate but as I have said ad naseum that is 100 times better than an avowed liberal who wants to transform this country into a European type socialist one.

You are so invested in hating Romney you will never admit the truth that he is still so much better than Obama that people should vote for him. Because you can't have your way and your candidate you are going to help Obama win by having your little hissy fit and staying home. Then you will do doubt say "see, I told you Romney couldn't win". You will be as complicit as every Black Panther, ACLU, and Planned Parent member who campaigns for Obama.

Did you know that Paul Ryan was at a campaign event at The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida today? Interesting Tweet by a reporter present:

@AlexNBCNews: The crowd here at The Villages seems much smaller than when Newt Gingrich visited in January for the primary #decision2012

I don't know how this election is going to play out. If the lawsuit, which should be decided next week on releasing the delegates at Tampa rules in favor of the delegates, things could change. Because, people are still not in love with Romney.

The judge sat on the bench in open court, on the record at the end of oral arguments, and said he now agrees that the lawsuit is right on applying the law to the convention although it has never happened before in history. It is a tentative win, but of course, until the ruling comes down, it is not won yet.

Love the way you pick and choose your news reports. Ryan's crowds have been huge by almost every account but because one guy tweets that a crowd is smaller than one Newt had you think that means something?

Newt did have larger crowds than what the media was reporting. We had people on the ground sending us photos. But, I agree, I think that Ryan does draw the crowds. People like him so much better than Romney. This won't be a Palin type of VP pick as some think they will be able to push him under the bus. That is not going to happen with Ryan.

I agree. Medicare and SS have always been the 3rd rail of politics that are avoided at all costs but I think Ryan is not only extremely smart but very articulate. He doesn't shy away from the cold hard facts and I think perhaps America is ready to hear them since if we don't do something Medicare and SS won't be there for anybody before too many years.

I think the Romney Ryan ticket are smart not to run from the Medicare, SS, and budget proposals but to use them as a platform to present a clear alternative to Obama's policies. It is not just enough to be against Obama. You have to be for something.

This is true, but if you tuned into Meet The Press this morning, you would have heard, Mayor Kasim Reed make the salient point - Ryan sounds great, but what he is proposing doesn't match his voting record and it doesn't make sense. That is exactly what I am seeing and I don't really have confidence they will change things. Points, by Reed, made at the 11:30 mark - give the link a few seconds to move to the segment:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032608/#48717364

But, like you, the Republicans view Ryan as a Saviour to the ticket. Romney's team only received a 1% bounce from Ryan's VP announcement. That means, to me, that a lot of people are aware of his voting record and are skeptical.

Re: Romney VP Pick Today 9AM

Romney will NOT win Florida and his choosing or Ryan is an attempt to put Wisconsin in play. Ryan may win Wisconsin for Romney, but it will be close.

Obama will spend money in Wisconsin at the risk of not spending enough money in North Carolina-- which will host the Democrat Convention, but will still go to Romney.

Romney will win Pennsylvania and Arizona too, but it won't be enough.

I suspect Romney will spend a lot of time and money in Virginia, but he will lose Ohio, regardless of the time and money he spends there.

Romney will also lose Massachussetts, and it will be an embarassing loss, but not an unexpected loss.

Romney will not win Florida and he will not win Ohio.

Behold, your President today and President for the next four years!

You nor anybody else has a way of knowing today who is going to win Florida. The three Floida state polls taken in August have Romney ahead one to two points which is of course within the margin of error but still better than being one or two points behind. It is foolish for anybody at this stage to predict the outcome in swing states.

I think our country is in such an economic crisis that between that and Americans seeing how socialism has bankrupt so many European countries having a serious discussion about ways to save medicare and social security won't be able to be demonized by the left.

Plus in the case of Florida look at Rubio. He was elected with a conservative viewpoint and articulated the same themes Romney and Ryan are. How do you explain his election? All old people are not senile and taken in by MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the left wing talking heads.

I live in Ohio and it really made me sick on election night when I saw that Barack Obama had won Ohio. For a long time now, the winner in Ohio has been the winner in the Presidential race. Ohio had more recorded votes than voters. I personally know of one Church (Apostolic/Pentecostal/Charismatic type) who covered up their church office signs with signs promoting themselves as Obama Election Headquarters and gave people a chance to register and vote early (and probably often). I personally had someone from a local union come to my home, ask to speak to me and my wife (she knew our names) and offer to let us vote right here and turn in our ballots for us.

Historically it appears liberals are amazing at voter turnout as there are some places where more than 100% of registered voters vote! LOL.

I remember reading a story about one of LBJ's Senate campaigns in Texas. A young college student volunteer found out the campaign was filling out voter registrtation cards with peoples names from cemetery headstones. Horrified the student went to LBJ and told him what she had found. LBJ listened to her and then told her something to the effect of "those dead people in that cemetery are Texans and as such have just as much right as anybody to vote!".
