That's what this whole deal is about. Not disrespect for authority of rules.
CS emphasized to them that they knew they were breaking rules and made sure they understood that if they did this that consequences might result. They understood that.
Then he proceeded to teach them the finer art of this particular weaponry production.

Exactly...this is much ado about nothing...

I think Coonskinner has the right attitude about teaching principle while not necessarily condoning all the rules. See, what he is teaching the boys is that they will have to take the consequences for their behavior, if they choose to defy authority, it better be worth it to them. I think that is a great lesson. IN the future, rather than thinking that they must ovey all rules, he is teaching them to THINK about the consequences of breaking them.....a much more important thing than making paper wasps.....which is kind of a silly thing that he can use to teach a great principle.
Although CS would probably disagree with my thought process in this instance.....this is exactly my thought process when it comes to wearing pants and some other standards. They are not black and white scripture...they are breaking of church rules. We understand the principle and then decide whether breaking the rule is worth it or not.
BTW, CS, I sent this first post to my husband who really liked it!

No, it's about something.
That something is this--if people for some reason or other don't like you, or you rub them wrong, sometimes they look for a way to play "Gotcha!"
"See, he's really a bad, bad man!"
I think it's hilarious.
I figure Chan got picked on a lot when he was a kid.
And our Shepherd friend of course was the hardest rock ever quarried.
He was so rough he wore his clothes out from the inside, no doubt.
And as for me, I am just a rabble rouser.

Get er done, Johnny Reb!
My husband told our son that he didn't want him starting any fights, BUT if he had to protect himself he had his permission finish it.
