Re: Changing Denominations
Wow, I left for lunch and missed so much..... I think? We could fill a lot of batteries with as much acid as is on this thread! Some will never be blamed for loving each other too much!

Re: Changing Denominations
Rhoni,
I am the last person on this forum who is worthy to give any sort of spiritual advice. I too have been very open and vocal about my struggles and my spiritual journey, both for good and for bad, for support and condemnation. (though often the sources of both can be surprising).
I understand the desire to be transparent and upfront about what you are thinking, and feeling and experiencing. However you must always keep in mind that no matter how much you long to be understood, others are never going to understand. Only God, who knows all you have experienced, knows all your thoughts, all your dreams, your personality traits, and the deepest motivations of your heart, only He is truly capable of understanding you. And taking that a step further of truly judging you.
You should be able to take great comfort in that; knowing that Jesus understands how much you have been hurt, and how deep your wounds are, and all the struggles of your spiritual life, and only wants to love you to wholeness.
However, this is a two-edged sword, Rhoni. To take the comfort that Jesus is the only one who can understand and judge the sincerity of your motivations and desires, you must also accept that He is likewise the only one capable of judging others.
It might not be a bad idea to take a break from AFF. I know that It was necessary for me. When you do have a wound that is deep and infected, it's not wise to invite people to poke it with sticks.

Re: Changing Denominations
Rhoni, I understand in part...I am so far away sometimes I fail to really connect with some things and problems that arise. However we know what Bedrock is all about... He is a sure rock in the mist of shifting sands...
No matter where we go...we will still have to deal with ourselves...Yes, I know we can get a fresh start somewhere...however Rhoni, I am YOUR friend...your education goes far beyond mine...I am in first grade compared to your learning but here in first grade I learned we can fall and get up...we can fail and start again but we all need each other...
You don´t want to throw out the baby with the water... Many of us here ARE your friends no matter what. We are here to help you not condemn you…May I say this without in any way trying to hurt you…sometimes some of your comments take us by surprise and some people respond angry to you…
I do not consider the Pentecostal church to be a cult…some churches fit into that category but not all. You know that…there are the good and the bad…those that would crucify us and those that would do anything possible to help us…
You know I am sure some of the horrible experiences we went through at the hands of “our brethren” yet there were scores that came to us and did not believe the evil lies told on my family.
I spent many nights praying and crying before the Lord for it was not strangers that tried to destroy us it was people that had ate at my table, people that I had paid their bills…
You know what Rhoni…I decided most of them people wanted to be us…they could not so they decided to destroy us…
We cannot let what people do to us change Bedrock will always be the same...
Rhoni...stand back a while...whatever is bothering you leave it at His feet...I know that is easy to say and hard to do...back away...
However the more we bring up certain things we open the wound again...let it heal...let it make a scar...a scar is a wound that healed...
Love you, my friend.

Thank you both. The wound is not really an old one but a new one that brings up old memories. I will take a break from here but I am goign to get lost in a church of my choice and I have not by any means stopped my daily devotions and God hears my griping too .
Thank you for your prayers,
Rhonda

Re: Changing Denominations
Same person yes and thanla for the concern. Maybe its just a road hump don't know right now but my family still goes to the same awesome church and I still have the same holy ghost filled awesome kids just I'm not there right now. Its not the church as is often the case. It is just me.

Maybe I've got you mixed up with somebody else. If not, I'm truly sorry to hear that you're not attending church. Your good reports were always a blessing to me.
