Glad you are a part of this icky thread
There ya go! LOL!

Didn't mean to ruin his message though, but I've heard all kinds of anecdotes used to make a point that really don't make the point.....if you get my point....LOL!

Now as far as the lives of missionaries: I have known many UPCI missionaries over the years and some had more material blessings on the field than they would have ever had in these United States. It all depends on the area you are called to. I knew missionaries who served in Africa who had pools, a housekeeper, and every modern convenience a person could have. They came home to beg money and live in a broken down RV.

Bro. & Sis. Alvear are in a very low economic area and they have family and lives there. They work as hard as any I know and I pray God give them many souls for their labor. I would not take away from their ministery and comparing us, as some of you did, was like comparing apples to oranges.

The only thing a degree does to help a missionary, is the same thing it does here in the United States; it gives open doors to minister in places that would otherwise be closed to you. For instance, TRFrance was speaking of teaching English as a second language as entrance into a foreign country to work while ministering. For me, the entrance to some foreign countries would be as a crisis counselor where a missions work would be blocked.

God uses degreed and undegreed people. God's qualifications for ministry exclude no one. The harvest truly is great, and the laborers are few...Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.

If some of you had your way - no one would go because no one would be good enough. Thank God for Jesus who died to make those of us who were unworthy - worthy through His blood/righteousness.

Blessings,
Rhoni
Rhoni,

You should realize that if God doesn't call you to be a missionary and you do try to be a missionary, then you would fail. If you think that I am attacking you, then you would be wrong. I believe in being real with people.

Well, I do, and I don't even have a degree in Auto Mechanics. I spent all day yesterday learning two things:

1. How to replace a broken ignition actuator on a Ford Truck.

and....

2. I will never, ever again relace a broken ignition actuator on a Ford Truck.
Broken, schmoken....I can fix it.

Go to the Dodge dealership!!! LOL!

But I see your problem. You relaced the actuator instead of replacing it.

It seems to me that Rhoni is listening to God and seeking him. I'm sure she "realizes" that his Call is significant. She appears very "real" in this thread to me.

Rhoni,

You should care if God has that calling in your life, because if you try to be a missionary you will fail. Let God show you the calling that He has for you and not pick one for yourself.

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

I Corinthians 1:26 – 27 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

I Corinthians 7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

II Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

II Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

She said that she doesn't care about what call God has for her.

Sorry oneness man,

You are wrong. As a born-again believer...these signs shall follow. In Christ there is no failure. I don't have to have a second calling to do what God has already said to do. I don't listen to naysayers.

Blessings,
Rhoni

How can I be wrong? You think that I am wrong because you have been hurt by men and you think that I have no idea. You have issues with men telling you the truth. If you think that I am attacking you, then think that, because I'm not. Until your issues are resolved, you won't be able to do anything for the Lord. It's real and it is the truth.

OM, I think this is uncalled for, really. I believe Rhoni stated her beliefs about her situation. Second-guessing her and throwing out statements like the above isn't going to draw her closer to your opinion.

Let's give her the benefit of the doubt and uplift her instead of preparing her for failure.

I'll admit I have always found this strange, "if", if what???? God has already told us what we must do, get the word out! What more does one need, how many signs or no signs does one need to get off their rump do something anything . God doesn't need to say anymore, so what if one fails, if you don't try you've already failed ! GO FOR IT!
