Just for the record, I want to say what it was like when I came into Pentecost in the middle 1950's, in MY PART OF THE COUNTRY. Seems where you're from could make a difference in what was being taught. I well remember........
Men didn't wear beards, did wear long sleeves and long pants, no drinking or smoking, etc.
Women did not cut their hair, did not wear pants of any kind, didn't wear makeup.....maybe a few did powder their nose to take away the shine.
People were just getting televisions back then. The middle 50's was when I first heard them called a 'one-eyed devil'. Absolutely NO Pentecostal person went to the movies. If they did, you found them in the altar next church service.
As far as I can tell, the AMF folks are about the only ones who still adhere to most of these 'standards'.
