I'm looking into more of the fresh scents. That seems to be the going thing.

I went into a store that carries a country type candle - lots of food scents - strong and sickly sweet! Yuck! Not for me!
I had the Lily of the Valley scent and I loved it. It is very soft and clean. One of my favorites. I am a strange one that will change scents with the seasons. I will have the apple cinnamon during cold months but then when spring hits, I will have a softer, clean fragrance.

Hey, what is with the food scents? Not good for anyone who wants to eat alot (like me)! Actually, I have smelled them and I just don't like them. I am not usually a picky person, but when it come to candles I only like a few.

Not strange. That's what many people do. It's the reason I started this thread. I am changing scents for the spring and wanted some input.

People do burn a lot of the apple cinnamon during the winter. I have a day care that burns that same scent all year long! I guess it covers up the diaper smell! lol

Right, what is up with the food scents? I have never liked them!

I have an Almond Cherry that is great and a Cherry Cola! Love both of those. I guess that's a bit of a food scent! lol

I love the smell of Gardenia's. But my 4 yr. old grandson says you need to do a peanut butter and grape jelly one PO.

We had a Gardenia bush under the Music Room window when I was growing up. Sometimes the smell was so strong we had to shut the window!

Tell your grandson - NO! LOL!

revshoney,
Just got around to checking this company out. They are really not that pricey. $18 for a 20oz candle in an apothecary jar is a good price! That is a pretty high priced jar if you aren't buying in bulk. I don't sell as many candles as they obviously do, so that type of jar is out for me.

Their 10 oz is higher because of the tag, the cover and mainly because a 10 jar is an off size. That's what drives up the cost of a candle. It is pretty.

I really liked the description on this candle.

Pillowtalk - Highlighted by touches of vanilla, musk and amber, these soft orchids, mimosa and jasmine create the ultimate retreat for any room.

I just ordered an Amber fragrance. Should get that in on Friday. Very excited to test this one.

Looks like we candles in common. Florals are great!

I burned Yankee candles for years.. I love their scents, but I don’t think they burn evenly, so I won’t pay that much for them anymore. I bought one at Christmas though, and I love their "Home sweet Home" scent.

We have a small company here locally who makes great candles… they also sell to churches as a fundraiser. They are good candles, they burn really even with just enough oil so that it is fragrant.. but not overpowering. I usually buy them for my kitchen because they are in jars… I like anything with cinnamon such as the apple cinnamon…or a baking scent that isn’t too sweet. I wish they would put them into something besides a canning jar.

But in the bathrooms and bedrooms, I like to smell the fresh clean scents and florals.

Someone wants to impress me with a candle, let it burn clean and even… I will continue being the customer. I also like them put into nice containers.. that really matters to me.

Do you sell your candles online at all?

Oh, and in the fall, I love a scent that is mulled cider…. I have smelled a lot of mulled ciders…they are not all created equal… lol but I used to buy candles off of a lady who made the most awesome candle ever…I’ve lost touch w/her…but her candles were awesome. She used to have home shows.

All in all … I am a big candle fan…

OH, almost forgot... I love Bath and Body works candles...and I buy them at Christmas time... this year they were starting to get at my kids though... they are very strong.
