Dear brother,
May God wrap his arms around you, and sustain you in this time of sorrow.
Your family is in my prayers.

Rick,
She is not here, but she is not gone. Her smile and laugh, that twinkle in her eye...you can see and hear those things. And so much more.
I can't imagine what you are going through, and I don't have the words that will make it all better. But we are all here for you as long as it takes. And we love you. Don't forget that.

Re: One Accord's Wife Passed Away 2/6 at 1:07 a.m.
Brother.
Your letter brought me to tears but most of all it did indeed remind me of how wonderful God is! He too answered mine and my mom and dads prayers when my mother passed away just recently. My mom had a huge fear of leaving.. because she was afraid my dad would not be taken care of.. She was worried for my grandmother who was also ailing. And most of all... her biggest fear in life was not being able to breathe. She had us all pray on the night 2 weeks before her passing that all of these things would be taken care of.
The first night we were all gathered there at the hospital my dad asked her if she would mind him moving us into the house and him moving somewhere he didnt have to maintain as his health is bad.. she said that she would love that us being here. (that was then taken care of in her mind and heart even though he is still in the house we are 5 blocks away) Then he informed her he would be moving my grandmother here also so she would be well.. thus another thing off of her heart..
The biggest prayer answered was that when my mother began to pass from this life. She began to have problems breathing. She had been in a coma for 2 days but when she heard the dr say that her breathing was being altered due to fluid filling.. she looked up... placed her eyes to heaven and my mother remembered the prayer we had prayed... and with the most beautiful smile on her face.. went to be with Jesus.. She had not one bit of trouble breathing.. The first time in 3 years (she had horrible breathing problems towards the end) she had no trouble getting a breath at all for the last 3 min... But in the end... she was free... no more pain... no more trouble breathing... no more diabetes... no more walking with 1 leg... no more cares on this earth...
I know how you feel. It is not my spouse and no I am sure I need to take that back.. I cant imagine losing my Robert... but.. I lost my mom.. the one who did not give birth to me but she chose me... she picked me from many other babies she could have to be hers.. and I miss her dearly... But and this is what I typed all of this to say... the pain is strong... the hurt is there... but the one thing you will remember stronger than all of that... God answered that prayer... and not just that one.. many! God is God.. He loves you unconditionally and He has given you this for you to be assured that even though it was the time for the one you loved the most to go... that He wanted you to know she is with Him.
I pray my post is not in bad timing. I have felt this all day yet with your post I felt it was indeed the time I needed to say these things. My heart goes out to you. My prayers... I sit and cry like a baby now for you.. Please know you are NOT alone!

Re: One Accord's Wife Passed Away 2/6 at 1:07 a.m.
I never wanted this to be about me. But sitting here tonight. This cold empty house that just yesterday was a warm, full home. Just yesterday, today was another day of promise, a day for the Lord to have a chance to bring healing. Now, today, I drove by the funeral home and there, on the sign was my wifes name. I stopped on the road and cried like a baby. After sleeping about 2 hours this morning, my BIL woke me up to go to the funeral home and my first words were "Where's Lola?" He said, "rick, shes gone". I couldn't;t understand why she went to the store or wherever she went without telling me. Then, it hit me. She is GONE. A card came in the mail today, addressed to Lola. What do I do with it? She's gone and left no forwarding address. She wasn't here to tell me what she wanted me to wear to the funeral home. I opened a drawer. there was a shirt she needed, but never got to wear.
No, I;m not strong. the longer I sit here, the more I wonder if I can make it...or if I even want to.

OneAccord,
It is ALSO about you. She has been your life - together.
Can you stay with someone for a couple of weeks? Get out of the house for a little while?

Oh Jesus we ask you right now to give Rick peace and comfort. I know that our words can not ease his pain Lord but I ask you to put your loving arms around him right now. Fill the room where he sits with angels to comfort and give him security... give him all his family around him to hold him... Let them hold his arms high... He is not strong now.. he needs us to stand in the gap for him.. and that we do right now in Your name! We hold him up and ask you to comfort.. bless... hold... and most of all just Love him with your unconditional... unmeasured love right now in Jesus name!!!
Bro Rick.. we love you and we are praying right now! It is about you and God is with you and we are here for YOU!!!

Does anyone know how to get ahold of Bro Raven? If so I think it would be appropriate if they could ask him to call Bro Rick right now and pray with him.. I believe he needs this desperately right now. I have a feeling he may be home alone tonight and doesnt need that!

Oh brother Rick, I am so sorry for your loss, and wish I could heal your pain. Just cry out to the Lord and he will strengthen you and give you the comfort you need to get through this time.

Bro.Rick in your time of loss, you have ministered to me because this brings me to conviction, for all of the times I have taken my wife for granted, your posts have brought to me a reality check about what really matters most in life.
Sometimes I have gotten caught up in ministering to others, that I have taken my family for granted.
So brother Rick, through your loss you are ministering.
Sister Lola is in a better place, and what a beautiful reunion you have to look forward to.
