But why should they?

Wise?
Unwise?
Good Idea?
Bad Idea?

All of these things are subjective and it is their decision to make.

i think that defeats the "sneaking around" part of their wargames.... even then they would be MORE visible to people passing by.... and would definately get reported to the police....

it would be better if they were out in the country away from the city, cops, etc.... no one to bother them and no one for them to bother....

JG is a great pastor, he'll know how to a) handle any negative publicity and b) know whether or not to end these "war games" on church property....

Why should they? First, because it is the wise thing to do. Second, because children have no business being out playing in the middle of the night. Third, depending on how close they are to people's houses, they would be less likely to disturb the peace if they did it in the daytime.

The real military does many of its war games in the daytime.

These days we have lost our sense of what is our business and what is not.

We are all free to have an opinion on things like this but, in the end, their actual reactions to this situation are theirs and theirs alone.

I really have trouble understanding peoples need to state what they need to do.

As I said... we all have full right to state what we would do were it us...

But since it wasn't...

It's not our call.

Keep in mind that back in the days when people could leave their doors unlocked and let their kids out to play with the other kids in the neighborhood the neighbors didn't mind their own business. If someone's kid was acting up, the neighbor chewed him out and then went to the kid's parents, who then inflicted appropriate punishment on the child. And the government for the most part didn't pass laws taking away individual liberties.

These days, when people for the most part just hide behind locked doors, mind their own business and don't get involved, we have kids carrying guns to school, shooting each other in drive-by shootings, shooting store owners in robberies, etc., and government making all kinds of laws taking away individual liberties.

whats wrong with Uno, Rook, spades, monopoly, vollyball, softball, football, skateboarding even, hockey in the parking lot...any variety of activities that wouldnt cause confusion.

Any sane adult should stop and think "Hummm, hey this is probably really fun, but what if some stranger or passerby got the wrong idea and someone got hurt?"
It's happened before...kids get mistaken for the real deal and end up dead...

Better yet:
take them to a designated playing field for such games if you must, but going out under cover of night dressed in full gear to play in some remote area not designated for the sport...or even if you did it on the church grounds - is a gross display of stupidity.

"here's your sign"

there is always more to the story, but taken at face value, perhaps someone wasnt firing on all cylinders when they decided this youth activity.
