I thinkits irrelevant whether the miracle was hearing or speaking. But it was absolutely imperative for that time that the gospel be broadcast to all. It was new!

maybe Paul was feeling some pressure as well he did shave his head.
Do you think the early church was primarily Jewish? Do you think they held on to some of the customs of the synagogue?

so with Jewish roots came jewish customs. ever heard of the "angel of the church, metirgeman etc???
The non Jews were having to adapt to the use of the Hebrew tongue in the readings that took place. Again, refering to New Tongues.

this is what Paul had to battle with... the Jews would not accept the Gentiles unless they followed Jewish Laws... Eating... Circumcision... and so forth...

My pastor teaches that all this doctrinal debate leads to seeds of doubt being planted. Those seeds of doubt cause us to accept small amounts of uncertainty at first, and then gradually more and more until we are no longer willing to take a doctrinal stand for much of anything.
Not only is it a highly entertaining hobby, it's a well-lubricated path toward a one-world-religion where everybody agrees that everybody else is okay, and nobody condemns anybody, anything, or any certain behaviors. Novel concept, eh? I wonder what the bible says . . . . . ![oh, brother!](http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com/images/smilies/rolleyes2.gif)
