It's obvious that Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost immediately after His baptism.
Luk 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

That doesn't say he was only full since being baptized..
BTW what do you believe "being full of the Spirit" means?

Luk 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
It means that Jesus had the Holy Ghost indwelling Him.

Which means what? He's a flesh suit and the Spirit is like water filling a bottle?

It means that He, as well as any that are indwelt with the Holy Ghost, are temples of God with that indwelling Spirit....
1Co 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Do you know that?

I disagree that Jesus was God.
So I can understand and not be accused of putting words in your mouth, are you saying that we are filled partially with the Holy Ghost? In other words, the following scriptures would indicate, in your opinion, that Jesus had more Holy Ghost than Stephen (or us)?
Luk 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Act 7:55 But he [Stephen], being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God
Jesus was filled without measure in Luke 4:1 but Stephen was only partially filled in Acts 7:55? Col 2:9 is speaking of how much Holy Ghost a person has, in your opinion?
|
I never said that Stephen or we today could not be 100% filled with the Holy Ghost but as i stated earlier Jesus was and is what we can never be in that Jesus has always been God thereofre he is infinite whereas we are finite so to say that just because stephen or someone today is filled with the Holy Ghost they have just as much of the Holy Ghost as Jesus makes as much sense as to say that a thimble that is full of water has as much as a five gallon bucket that is filled with water sense both are completely filled. Even my past illustration is not a perfect illustration because are finite containers. How can i compare the difference between how much of the Holy Ghost Jesus had in comparison to how much a regular person today has it simply boggles the mind to attempt to measure how much it takes to fill an infinite container one with no begining or ending this is why ( in my opinion) the Bible states
John 3:34.. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him
there is no way to measure the capacityt of which Jesus as God could contain. We as humans on the other hand are limited and finite to compare our capacity to the capacity of Jesus would be to campare a glass to the universe.

Re: Who Is The Holy Spirit?
Form eternity past Jesus was God. Before Jesus was born He was God. When He was born as a baby in a lowly stable He was God. When he grew as a young boy Hewas God. As he became a a young man He was God. On His went to be baptized of John He was God. When He began His ministry He was God. When He was betrated He was God. When He was on the cross He was God. When He closed His eyes in death He was God. When He arose triumphant over death satan and the grave He was God. When He ascended up He was God. Today Jesus is God. And throughout eternity He will be God.

Amen! The question is, "Who is the Holy Ghost?"
The Holy Ghost, is the Spirit of God. Jesus is God.
But if there are 2 God's in heaven. God and God Jr. And God gave God Jr. all Power and authority, then we would have one God without any power. But of course we know that is hogwash.

I know that my last post was more of a rant than anything else and that it was off topic. My post just previous to it was more on topic. I posted the last one because i just wanted it to be clear where i stood on who Jesus was and is and always will be.
