I doubt it. If it was a "movement" within the white churches trying to make the "down-low" acceptable within their organization, I'd feel the same way.
If there is a problem in an organization that happens to be black (I'm not saying that I agree that this is a widespread problem in COGIC)...but if there is a problem in an organization that happens to be black, perhaps it's wiser to present it as an organizational problem and not a racial problem.
I have said before that I don't think some people are racist, but I do think that sometimes they are not cognizant of some of the implications they make. I do see this as a "Friends" forum, and my goal is to prevent a friend from voicing something that will be taken very badly.

But who says there is a "Movement" within ANY group to keep things on the "Down-Low"? This is gossip!!!
Several years ago, there was a VERY prominent UPC speaker who made very loud accusations about a gay problem within the UPC and it centered around leadership. Renda, I told you who and the target of the accusations. I don't feel right saying it publicly. For me to develop what that man said, who may have had an axe to grind, into a "Movement" within the UPC, would be irresponsible!
And that is what MOW is doing. He's taking something he's heard and making it an absolute. That is INCREDIBLY unfair and unwise.

Irony of ironies ... this was was what the former owner was perpetrating.

Funny thing is I've been very busy at work today and I'm just hitting and missing on this thread - - so I'm not perpetrating anything - I have no agenda.
Probably just responding in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I agree and I'm sorry if anyone thought my post was pointing it as a racial problem. We are just inundated with COGIC news living here and I shouldn't have applied it to this thread.

Yes, he got on here in early 2008 ... saying that his peers were giving a blind eye to homosexuality in his district ...
needless to say ... he ate crow ...

"Fed by Pelathais." That's funny. If there's one person on this forum that I wouldn't want as an enemy, it would be him!
I cannot imagine there's any chance that any black group has a more significant problem with ministers and molestation than any other group. And according to government research, a white person (and I am mostly white) is 70% more likely to commit the crime than a black person.

I don't think that was his intent.
If you wanted to make a big deal out of the wording of his post, so be it-- but what you got from it and what I got from it are two different things.
