Don't worry about it. You would have to own one of those devil boxes or a computer to be exposed to it.
It is a secular singing competition where hundreds of thousands of hopefuls audition throughout the country and are narrowed down to 36 contestants voted on by America each week after they perform. Each week one or more contestants are eliminated (based on lowest number of call in votes).
The show airs from January until probably May or the beginning of June and each week the field narrows down until eventually America votes one of the singers the winner and they win a recording contract with a major label.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There are some interesting success stories from this show. A few years ago a girl from rural Oklahoma whose first airplane ride was her trip to Hollywood for the show went on to win it and now is one of the top female Country music artists in the nation. She has multi platinum selling albums, has won over 40 industry awards, and has been made a member of the Grand Ole Opry (a great honor in Country music).

So that is how we must define success?
I know a woman that quilted with a passion and gave all her quilts away. Is she a loser? She claimed a family under one of her comforters could keep warm.
I know another woman that took a full time job without pay and worked in a nursing home . she did this starting after she was 65 years old.
