She said NO...

the quote is " He is our pastor, not our police "

My UPC pastor has NEVER preached standards from the pulpit nor any other forum. Some women in my church trim and apply a little foundation and others don't. Some disagree and others don't. But in the end, our pastor preaches the truth in salvation and gospel and the Word of God and the need to be obedient to our convictions . He does not preach our standards to us.

Go back and re-read her post - it's other people in the church who criticize her, not her pastor. She loves her pastor.

Re: Changing Denominations

I go to a church and I don't agree with alot people who go there do,but I let my pastor handle it,probelms come when church folks play pastor who aren't the pastor.
Now if I was a Pastor I could deal with pastorial issues I keep my place.
Pastors have enough on their plates without church police around.

Hmm, you say "amen" but you're accusing her of "knowing better" and grilling her about what her pastor teaches?

I can honestly say that I have never heard my pastor preach standards.
I don't know why you are picking on me, but I went to church to find a refuge for my soul, Hair was the last thing on my mind when I first went.

I've never asked him about it. Many women in our church wear foundation and trim their hair. I am not being stubborn and spiteful as you said. In fact, the ones critiqueing me are the ones who also critique the pastor and the church. So I pay them no mind.
