No...that was all part of the article I was quoting....I'm sure you wanted me to say yes after our WPF, TV conversations
I am disappointed in you. I am not sure I can fellowship you now. Here I thought you were an open minded extremist. One that was going to help SAVE Pentecost from itself.

j/k
LOL...I'm a lot more conservative than I probably come across, but I just deal with too many educated, new members and visitors to espouse illogical doctrine. As a general rule I feel like if in order to validate your stance you have to rely solely on an organizational bylaw and not the Bible, you should look long and hard at your message.
For example, there are many churches in our fellowship that would never preach me because of my beard. I am fine with that because I keep plenty busy at my church.

I posted earlier on page 10 how that argument is being used by many people now who are embracing that as just the next evolutionary step of personal freedoms. I was hoping it would generate some response because I am curious about how different people would answer that.
I'm not at all crazy about skirts for men. But as a native american descendent (no, I'm not full blooded) I would really love to see the breech aprins, breech clothes and leggins make a come back (more than just ceremonial) I don't much care for the pants like we wear today, but I am most comfortable in the mens attire of my ancesters.

I actually started growing mine out. I will now be the subject of sermons at my mothers church, if they knew I was growing it that is.
I have grown up being preached at because of one thing or the other. The part of my hair. The cloth in the breast pocket of my suit. The elastic waist in my pants. So they will not let you preach in some places and I supply them with their sermons in others.

I think I will have to try out my native american roots now. of course others might not want to see me dressed in it.

That is funny... and I'm sure true. I just don't like having to try to defend something that is so indefensible by the Bible. I can't even think of a Biblical principle to apply in telling that to someone. It is those kinds of outrageous rules taught as doctrine that make some people see us as cultish.

today we heard a sermon from Bro Ortega from Lake Havasu City, AZ. He said that we need to remember that nothing we do is good enough. There is nothing we have that we can give to God that is big enough. God does not love us because of what we can bring to him and the kingdom. It is our NEED of him that causes him to love us. Like a parent and child. The child can not do anything for us. Usually it makes messes that we have to clean up. We love the child because of its NEED of us.
Jesus asked Peter of he loved (agapao) him. Peter said yes I love you (phileo). A second time Jesus asked him the same thing. Peter answered the same thing. The third time Jesus then asked do you love me (phileo) and Peter was a little short but he answered that yes Lord you know I love you (phileo)
Jesus then told him, feed my sheep.
God does not ask us to come to him perfect and loving him unreservedly. He just askes us to be honest with our love and he will use it for his kingdom. Our love will go from Phileo love to Agape love as we continue on our journey with Him.
We need to stop asking of others to be perfect in their love of Him because he did not ask it of us. Just be content to let them start by just having affection for him and let it build to the unquestionable unreserved love like God has for us. As their love grows so does their understanding and so does the things they will do for him.

And just when I thought I had heard it all..............
