Re: James Strong, KJV, Redefinitions of words?
Scholars today have similar language skills as the KJV translators.
If someone suggests otherwise, please provide evidence to support your hypothesis.

If they are similar, then is there evidence they used the same reference materials and methods that the KJV translators used?

Re: James Strong, KJV, Redefinitions of words?
They used more manuscripts than the KJV translators had. Our understanding of Koine Greek is certainly better and easier to research than was available than in 1611.
I have seen no evidence that suggests translators spoke and read Koine Greek better in 1611 than in 2018. How does one even measure such a thing ?

So Scott, what makes you think that the further we get from an event in history the more clearer the event becomes?
This is what you seem to be proposing in your idea that we may know more now about the ancient language than the ancients did.

Same with DB, he thinks Dr. Schmuck can read Egyptian hieroglyphics like the guy that wrote it, using hand me down info.

Re: James Strong, KJV, Redefinitions of words?
My sueestion is translators in 2018 have more manuscripts and a better understanding of Koine Greek than translators had in 1611.

You are correct, but what is considered a manuscript may be a fragment of a few verses. Since the DSS finding we do have a bit more information.
