God knew that animal sacrifice for the propitiation of the sins of mankind until Jesus was the plan. Therefore he had Noah take 7 clean animals on the ark and once the ark landed he added meat to the diet so that humans would also partake of the sacrifice. But that doesn't mean that they could only eat animals that were sacrificed. They did however have to respect life as represented by not partaking in the blood of any animal eaten.
Before factory farming, animals grazed openly, lived humanely until slaughter. Our current system, for the most part, is abusive to animals and produces meat that is harmful to eat.

Romans 14:17-19
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

No criticism on my part. As a diabetic, this is similar to a meal I would eat.

Re: Meal prepping for the week
I tend to use the "plate" method when eating. Divide the plate in half. One half of plate is non-carb vegetables. The other half, I divide in half again. 1/4 of plate is protein (meat or other source of protein) the other 1/4 is for carbs(never rice though)
ETA, My last Dr visit my A1C was 5.2.

One last note. I now weigh 120lbs, having lost 80lbs eating this way.
