There is never a good way to say that......if you have to say it, it might not be quite so true......

You can stop waiting now.
DUDE! You are like the real McCoy! How about filmstrips and reel-to-reel?

Hey, what's wrong with admisison of error??????

Another preacher also once similarly said, "We cannot let them know we're just human beings, too."
Why can't we just say, "television has changed." The technology and the means of distributing television programming has changed so much since the 1950's that we need to adapt to that change.

It's all about evagelism.
In my case I don't do TV. I would much rather visit with you on the net than watch TV. However, I am not in fear of TV nor think it's evil in and of it'self.

My wife, (not so much me, at first) wanted to do the "ABC Wife Swap" show because she believed God was going to use it... turns out God agreed with my wife.

Today I am still not convinced TV (meaning broadcast, cable, or sat.) is a wonderful necessity for our home, even though I am not aware of any prohibition whatsoever that prevents us from having one. I have absolutely no doubt though that God can and will use WHATEVER means to reach the lost.

yeah, but how else do you respond to "I'm smarter than you because I read this specific book and, obviously, there is nothing else on earth that talks about this topic, only this one book... THAT I READ!! HAHAHAH!!"

There really is nothing else you can say to that...

Pianoman, I think you made an excellent point in this thread... this is kinda like States rights... (does the individual state have the right to decide on matters that they will be able to judge better for their area or does the "union").

We can keep chasing them around with arguments and whenever we nail them down, they change to the next argument... then we nail them down and they switch to the next one, then by the time you get back to the first argument, they expect you to prove it all over again, even though they are the ones who switched arguments the first time. It is like trying to nail down Bill Clinton on something...

It comes down to fear of change. The anti-TV stance has become part of their identity. They fear that the whole stack of cards will come tumbling down if this resolution passes.

They simply don't TRUST fellow member pastors to know the will of God as far as evangelism for their own local church. They feel that they must protect member pastors from any temptation to promote their local assembly using TV! THEY MUST PROTECT THEM FROM THEMSELVES!

That is hardly the case. But again, you will use anything to justify watching your tv.

Is it hard being such a judgmental, close-minded bigot, or does it come naturally to you?
