Every licensed minister with the UPC should be allowed to vote, whether they are at conference or not. This IS 2007, there are several ways to make this happen.
I can see potential problems on a district level, but there is no reason why it shouldn't be done on a national level. Otherwise, quit licensing people, taking their dues, and then telling them they are valued - but can't vote.
But, as an organization doesn't all that belong have a right to vote?
That's like saying if I had 8 kids over 18 voting for president that it wouldn't be fair to the family that only has one child that can vote.
This is true. Churches don't vote, the ministerial constituency votes. Every licensed minister, could in theory, travel to GC and vote in the business meetings. So, it would make sense to me, to do something to allow every licensed minister the privilege of voting.

Agreed! I've always thought this was very unfair to only allow those that could attend to vote.

Only pastors, or a pre-registered assistant pastor, along with District and national officials can vote. Even if you have been a pastor for 50 years and are in between churches, you can't vote. Locally licensed ministers can only vote if they are a district official.
