Been there done that and have the T-Shirt.It works because in truth if the church is moving along in the right direction you can counsel the women and he the men
and both together on the hard cases. It gives alot of accountability.A one man show is always limited.I know of several churchs where the whole group of elders are in on counseling.I have been invited in on this before and at first found it strange but if the truth be told there is safety in a multitude of counselors and
several words of wisdom were shared.I looked up on our platform at church last night at at least six or seven elders were seated on the platform. Each of them had a role in the service from singing to announcements or thus saith the Lord.
God is good.

I've seen many ministry couples work together so well and be very effective but if you get to know them a little and a chance to see behind the scenes it's very obvious that she provides impetus, creativity, organization and spunk that makes him look REAL good. Although strong women, they are also submissive and yielding to authority.
I admire them.

Yes, I know what the title of the thread is but the title "pastor" happens to have a role attached to it. At least one of the reasons a pastor's wife doesn't have the right to call herself a pastor is the BIBLE'S list of qualifications (which is where my previous post comes in).

Unlike your feminist, women-get-to-fill-men's-roles heresy, my comments were based on scripture.

It's like all these pastors that also have the title of "Dr." when so few have an earned doctorate.

Agreed. (Of course, I refuse to call anyone "doctor" who is not practicing medicine - and not even all of them).

A Dr. is a Dr! He doesn't have to be a medical doctor!

Well, someone can have the title, "Dr." and it not mean a medical doctor. "Dr." just refers to a level of education. My mother was considering going for a doctorate in education at one time. Her title would have officially changed to Dr. Elba Vega.
