The concept is present, but not the verbiage. We see the power accessed and loosed when the woman with an issue of blood touched the hem of Christ's garment and he sensed that "virtue" (power) had gone out from Him. I think when the early church prayed, they instinctively understood that they were operating in the power and authority of God. For God promised...
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Many within the church today don't fully realize how much power and authority they have. They pray up towards Heaven and ask that God will do something here on earth, the answer coming now down from Heaven. But we don't see that in the early church so much. We see men speaking healing "Silver and gold have I none, but that which I do have, give I thee..." They understood that they had been delegated power from God, and the authority to use it. I simply took to praying with the words "release the power of God" on occasion to get my focus straight. In time, one instinctively begins to realize that they are bringing to bear the authority and power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ Jesus that is delegated to them. Then they can ditch the training wheels of the phrase, "I release the power of God over this situation", etc.

Fun times.
Lol I was waiting for him to say Matthew 16:19. Because that is not what that means

He left gaps. What if the enemy was hiding in the NE? LOL

It can become silly. What was he trying to do, "bind" the enemy throughout the world? lol

Here's something that came to mind as I was just typing...
Zechariah 2:5
For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
Why bind the enemy in each direction? Why not pray that God Almighty be a "wall of fire" around the local assembly during that season of warfare??? That would protect from all directions, would it not?

And, when I read that he involved the directions of North, South, East, and West... something didn't sit well with me.

A few years ago we also had an evangelist come through, we were instructed to nail handkerchiefs to wooden stakes pray over them, anoint them with oil, and drive them into the ground at the four corners of our city. He said do it on the right side of the road coming in the city so spirits could go out but not come in (assuming they would be travelling on the highway I guess)

That's because it is run by Zionist Preterists and Russian Preterists.

Re: Demons and the believer

Here's another interesting detail that offers a little insight into spiritual warfare. When Saul went to see the witch of Endor, she conjured up the spirit of Samuel. But look closely at what is being seen by the witch here...
I Samuel 28:11-14
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
Here's a question. Did she open a portal into Sheol where the OT dead were resting? With the portal wide open for Samuel, were other spirits "escaping" into our world? If she didn't shut this portal, did it close on its own, or did it remain open, needing to be shut?
