Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
The UPCI is well connected to the government and other people in Louisiana.
Someone needs to make a few phone calls. This should NEVER have gotten this far in the first place.
Wouldn't it be HORRIBLE if somehow "they" are using this Pastor as a scapegoat of some sort?
Seriously, why is "this" happening?
Whatever "this" is, it is much deeper than this Pastor. Whoever "they" are, need to be ashamed of themselves for whatever it is that is really going on and even more ashamed for leaving the Pastor behind in a mess that THEY KNOW he wasn't really involved in.
I mean, who lets a Pastor (of all people) take the fall for their own misdeeds?
Even the Mafia respects their Priests...
I don't blame the government at all-- they have a job to do.
I blame this Pastor's so-called friends.

Yes, they are starting early this year heading for South Florida.
I hear the North is supposed to have a tough winter, which tends to send the northerners heading south.

Not trying to start an argument, or debate, but where did you gather this information?

Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
Well its very simple he had some construction work done on his home ,the contractor asked for cash ,obviously he wasn't intending on claiming it ,everyone knows about the 10 thousand limit, but number two he wouldn't have been caught if he wasn't friends with the politician who was the target ,so ya he is guilty(of structuring although it clearly is his money for legit reasons) and the contractor will probably be audited as a result of this I'm betting ,but lets face it a lot of this goes on,I know one minister who has visited overseas many times, and probably still does, to missionaries and takes money belts stuffed with cash ,why ? I'm not sure, I never wanted to ask, might get an answer I didn't want, other than, nothing like american cash ? I'm just not sure its the right thing to do frankly ! I also know of situations where people have come from Canada and worked over here and were paid well by ministers who had friends at the border, who let them through easily and knew when they were coming, lot of shananagins going on ! not right in my opinion !

Jesus taught that a man could do what he wanted with hismoney, that he could contract with whoever for whatever however he wanted.
The man took his own money out of the bank and got in trouble for it. Tyranny, pure and simple. Welcome to Lee Greenwoodistan.

Do you really want a human government run completely by the Bible?
Do you really want a Christian Saudi Arabia? A Christian Syria? Run by humans?
These financial laws specifically are not examples of government tyranny. Like I alluded to earlier, the only angle our government could get Al Capone on was a financial angle. Sometimes, when people are doing wrong, it is these financial laws that helps to hold people accountable for their actions.
