Re: Welcome Fellow Christians - Steve Pixler 8/17/
I can't speak for SP, but there is a huge pull on the church to loosen up. Things that have been so clearly defined have become so grey. Do we think that it is God are do you think that people have been wrong all of these years. I think that there are those who are phariseical but does it mean those old teachings were false? Should there be a distinction between a man and woman's dress? Should we throw out all teaching of outward holiness in order to accomodate people.
Everyone should be welcome to our churches, but should we change our teaching in order for them to stay? I consider other people's thoughts on Christian standards, but it seems we are getting farther away to please God than getting closer to him. Instead of people becoming more modest they are becoming less, instead of clothing becoming more gender distinctive it is becoming less, instead of consecrated living people are more connected to Hollywood and latest trends.
Will people miss heaven over some of these things? God will judge. From experience I already know that most people follow from a distance. That being said I want to teach more than bare minimum standards so people can be safe. No one is eternally secure, and one thing leads to another and than another until we have left a desire to even please God.

If you can't tell the difference between the cut of women's pants and men's then I feel very sorry for you. I hope you do realize that both men and women wore robes in Bible times with slight differentiation between what men wore and what women more. As much differentiation as there is now between men's pants and women's.
Besides the point was for there to be a clear distinction between the sexes which ironically enough old time Pentecost works against by denying women to wear makeup (and don't give me that "articifically enhancing a person is telling God he didn't do a good enough job" because pretty much 100% of old time Pentecostal women and men "enhance" or change how God made them by using deoderant to control their body odor and hair spray or gel to control and shape their hair, panty hose to make their legs look smoother, etc, etc).

They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I am sure SP will lose no sleep either way.

Aw c'mon, he's got to lose a little sleep since he was the darling of the ultra cons for so many years and now is persona non grata!

GS there is much I would like to respond to but since I'm on my cell I'll keep it short.
Why do you ask if people have be wrong ALL THESE YEARS? You known these standards only go back to approximately the 1940s right?
A better question is was the entire church wrong for 19 centuries?!

How can you tell the cut of women's pants unless they fit inappropriately.
