Yes. We are told to be and look different than the world. So think my friend . Do you look different? Does your church look different from the others? I am in Mississippi and a member of the Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship. If you trust your pastor then you should obey.

Respectfully if a forum full of people who have as varied a set of beliefs as the local mall on any given Saturday has impacted your understanding of who God is, and how you relate to him, I would suggest you never really gave any consideration to that subject to begin with.

I suspect you thought you knew who you were, you came here and saw questions you really had not spent time understanding and settling in your own heart.

As one minister told me, until you have that "crisis of faith" you really have no idea what you believe.

It is only once you come out the other side that you really are settled in your doctrine.

I would for the second or third time, suggest that this place not be the place where you settle eternal matters.

(Dear AFF friends, the above post is in no way meant to impugn any of you. Rather it is to suggest that one should never weigh eternal matters by the musings of others whose spiritual commitment cannot be understood. I know some of you. Some of you know me, but as a body we are little more than strangers. This is a fun place. We have a good time here. But for the weighty matters of my soul, I have trusted men who have walked with me and who's lives I know and who's commitment to God I have witnessed that I turn to when in need of council.)

I agree.

Talking to your Pastor is the place to start. And study the Word thoroughly, and the Holy Ghost will be your Counselor.
