This is SO not true! LOL I've seen some of the books my son had to study from. He's a "grunt" but has had so much class time, studying, test after test. Believe me -- it REQUIRES a considerable amount of intelligence.

Have you been shot at or hunted down by the Taliban? If you haven't, you might want to follow Allen West's advice. War is hell. I hold nothing against any solider on the battlefield, unless, they rape a woman. That would be the only barbaric act for any solider.

Emotions running high can cause people to do some crazy things! I'm sure having the taliban pointing their weapons at you daily, knowing you can't shoot unless shot at first, and having little kids placed between you and the enemy BY the enemy - daily... and those kids HATE you, throw rocks at you, shoot at you, etc., constantly/daily takes a toll. (Don't let pictures of little kids shaking hands with soldiers and smiling for the camera fool you. They love having their pictures taken and love posing for the camera; but remove the camera, and they are the enemy. Those kids are trained to hate U.S. soldiers, sadly. At least the ones around Helmand.)

Anyway, my son just returned from Afghanistan (on Christmas day). I don't think he would say that what his brothers-in-arms did was "right". But in the heat of battle, with emotions involved, I can certainly see how something like this could happen.

How can we train them to: "KILL! ...but be nice." We can hope that's how it goes, but this is war. Wrong, yes. Criminal, no.

Those same Taliban had been trying to kill them moments earlier, and may have killed some of their comrades? So, let's not go overboard, it was unprofessional and should be address by the military command, not tried in the mass media of the world!!!

And the White House should simply say, "It was wrong and they will be punished accordingly." And then never mention it again!!!
