You have rightly spoken, great bunch of folks here, lovers and followers of Jesus Christ.

I stayed a Christian BECAUSE of God's grace and mercy despite "the Church"/aka, the UPC. I've been out long enough that I really don't feel I have an axe to grind and realize how marginalized they are, but I am still having a very hard time with religion in general and anything that brings me back to those old teenage UPC days when we had service after service after service. And after days of horrible Junior High classes, instead of retreating to my room, I had another three hour UPC service to look forward too upon coming home from school! Anything that was an outlet for me, creatively speaking, was soon forbidden by our UPC pastor who was my real parent -my own biological ones were mere proxies.
Never again. Never.
Now I see video's of UPC services with all the Lincoln driving, "anointed ones worthy of a double honor", pastors sitting on the stage nodding like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid during a state of the union address and 25 years old come flooding back.
Fool me once, shame on me... Fool me twice....

Re: Apostolic News: AFF has been HIJACKED
Maybe, just maybe, there wouldn't be quite so many "disgruntled backsliders", as the author calls those who post threads like the ones he listed, if Apostolic leadership wasn't so busy writing about endorsements, monitoring, and watching what parishioners and children are viewing... and spent a little more time discovering why those "backsliders" might have gotten "disgruntled" to begin with.
Psst: the internet wasn't the cause. AFF wasn't the cause. Very few people start questioning simply because someone else presents questions to them. Questions and varying viewpoints encourage people to study the Bible. If we have to live sheltered from every view different than our own in order to protect our views, we may want to re-evaluate what we're believing.

Re: Apostolic News: AFF has been HIJACKED
I left a Oneness church after joining AFF, but I didn't leave because of AFF. If it hadn't been for AFF while everything was happening that prompted my leaving, I would have had a much more difficult time still believing. It's those who speak out about what they believe wholeheartedly but without any care or empathy who push me further away, not people with honest questions, varying answers, or different viewpoints.

Again, thank God for my Pastor, who put a Love for the truth and the love for a relationship with God, within me.
In spite of the fact that he was UPC.
He was and still is one of the wisest men I know.
Perfect, no.
Slammed for being too conservative? Yes, by some.
Slammed for being too liberal? Yes, by some.
Yet out of that little church came pastors and pastors wives, 15 pastors among my youth group and at least 5 pastors wives that I know.
I never knew the type of pastor that some of you speak of.
Just remember, ANY group has good leaders and bad leaders.

Many having woke up out of the sleep that they were wrong about things like beards were a sin, women trimming hair was sin, non tithing sent you to Hell, ect have now rebelled against even the foundation of One God and the new birth.
Not to mention Universalism planted and growing and well respected members openly teaching the Bible is corrupt.

When I first came into Pentecost we boasted that "we have the truth" or "Truth does not hide" or a similar idea...we loved the idea of debating the Oneness....now those same OPs run and hide instead of defend their faith.
We had the "tongues" debate on Jim Yohe's forum too...they even posted an article by Robert Sabin where he offered a "tongues is not initial evidence" polemic. Jim was not afraid and in those days the "boys" from the UPC and other orgs were apparently willing to entertain such debates....

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Accountability is not just belonging to an Apostolic/Pentecostal group or association. Neither is it being on “
Facebook”, having a “Twitter” account or logging in on some gossiping, rumor-mongering so called Apostolic
Ministers Forum. If you traffic in any of these you better exercise extreme caution and use high ethical standards.
None of this makes you responsible, nor does it watch for your soul. Surely there is a higher level of safety we
can engage in than just these readily available items. Running to someone about the day you take off, what you
eat for breakfast, how much spending money to give your wife or some such matter is silly. Grow up! Face the
issues of your not being able to handle money wisely, being enticed by someone of the opposite sex,
church/neighboring pastor problems, family problems, etc. Things that really matter and are damaging to us
need to be addressed.

hehe that endorsement of EA seemed odd...I wonder if they are connected or if that was a paid polemic?

Most definitely connected and paid ... seems EA has its own scholarship fund.
Shelling out 1K to each of these fine gentlemen to attend the WPF's Apostolic School of Theology.
http://www.apostolicnews.org/2010/09...apostolic-com/
Seems the WPF and its ministry of disinformation is now committed to trashing AFF and AMF in deference to the holier EA. Paul's just their Baghdad Bob.
We SO need our own scholarship slush fund!!!

Posted this slam about AMF a couple of posts ago - some 3 hrs before. Keep up, MMM.
Apparently, Crawford needs accountability in the WPF because some of their guys don't know how to handle their money and are enticed by a specific person of the opposite sex while AMF would rather talk about how much money their wives are spending, lol.
I sure wish these guys would've staged a successful coup of the mothership and Wilson would've landed his lifelong dream job ... Forumland would've stayed vibrant and "hopping" after, 2008.

That’s amazing, I was just on a “Apostolic” forum that actually has those same post titles you listed. I have come to the same conclusion, some of those sites are literally run by backsliders. All they do on there is question Apostolic doctrine."
