How silly to cut a verse down like that to make it say something it doesn't.
I guess we can say along those lines of "interpretation" that God does not hear sinners prayers. Its in the Bible what is so hard to understand?

".....not the wearing of gold....." is in the Bible. I agree, what's so hard to understand????????

Funny, you seem to explain away the simple statement.... "nor the wearing of apparel."

Re: Isaiah 3 and jewelry...
Well, that's fine. We can just wear any jewelry that isn't gold or pearly.

I'll take diamonds ANY day over gold or pearls.

Funny story: My folks lived with the "NO jewelry" mandate for many years, especially my dad. So it was quite the surprise when he bought my Ma some very nice diamond earrings for her 50th B-day. He told me it was one of the best gifts he ever got her (with a subtle wink).

So are your parents no longer with a conservative group?

They were never that conservative, but were part of a very conservative church for several years. My dad was more of a free thinker, albeit still very conservative, and my Ma tended to do what the pastor said. But.... women, even conservative ones, still like "pretty" things, so she was blown away by the earrings. You couldn't have gotten a more unexpected gift from my dad.

The point is, saying God doesn't hear sinners prayers is taking the verse out of its context and saying the Bible declares something it actually doesn't.
Just like you have contorted the above words to make the Bible say something it actually does not.
