How wou;d this come into play?
Matt 5:39
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek , turn to him the other also.
KJV
1 Thess 5:15
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
KJV

Oh, but you can't go around quoting those scriptures! Don't you know that American culture takes precedence over scripture here on AFF?

YOU, my dear brother, could not be a stumblingblock to anyone if you were forced to try at gunpoint!!
You shared a delightful incident in the lives of your sons, whom I am convinced will one day rise and call you "blessed!!"

The moral of the story: Play with paper hornets after school.

I don't have children, but I have seven brothers and a zillion nieces and nephews...so without having firsthand knowledge, I have some understanding of children, having once been one.
That being said, I can say with certainty that as with all things in life, the paper hornet phase will soon fade into the valley of past experience.
It is not something for us to get all bent out of shape over.
I trust Coonskinner's judgment as a godly man and loving father, one who would not teach his boys to be mean to other children or disrespectful to authority.
We really all need to lighten up here...

By his own account, he was teaching his boys to disregard school authority. This isn't about paper hornets, it's about hitting other people with them (who didn't ask to be brought into the "game") and doing it in a venue where it is not "sanctioned."

Oh Chan, but I am sure that that was NOT the Elder's intent...do we have to hold people's feet to the fire over every word and deed?!
Can we not trust him to make the right choices for His OWN children?!

Many things are becoming clear.
