Folks...consider this. We're still on a war footing. There are people out there dedicated to destroying us. And yes....they carry large amounts of cash. And it's common for them to break it up among a group of people and carry it through separately. This is war.

No accompanying cash necessary.

"Alex Jones has received a secret report distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) entitled “The Modern Militia Movement” and dated February 20, 2009. A footer on the document indicates it is “unclassified” but “law enforcement sensitive,” in other words not for public consumption. A copy of the report was sent to Jones by an anonymous Missouri police officer....

The MIAC report does not concentrate on Muslim terrorists, but rather on the so-called “militia movement” and conflates it with supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, the so-called patriot movement and other political activist organizations opposed to the North American Union and the New World Order. The MIAC document is a classic guilt by association effort designed to demonize legitimate political activity that stands in opposition to the New World Order and its newly enshrined front man, Barack Obama.

...MIAC claims members of a “rightwing” militia movement organized in the 1990s — generally in response to the Oklahoma City bombing and the events at Waco — “continuously exploit world events in order to increase participation in their movements. Due to the current economical and political situation, a lush environment for militia activity has been created” and supposedly exploited by “constitutionalists” and “white supremacists,” the latter an oft-employed canard used to demonize activists as dangerous and potentially violent lunatics."

However, considering people suspicious and thereby giving law enforcement the right to detain, search, and perform inquires about an individual with cash, marches down the dangerous road of eroding very important freedoms that we Americans have held sacrosanct for a couple hundred years.

9/11 is no excuse to hand over basic freedom to the Police.
I totally agree with you, but Ferd. So what do we do, not use caution? I just don't have the patiences to insist on me using my liberties when someone with more power than I, is insisting on abusing theirs.

You are buying it hook, line and sinker aren't you.

But... nevertheless...

Do share with us some of those directives that we need to review.

We are anxious to hear them.

So, you are saying that, as a precaution, they were probably running a background check to clear him while they were talking to him?

Which dollar amount is un-cautious?

Which dollar amount is too much?

Which dollar amount makes me suspicious?

If he said that he would be making it up out of thin air...

Re: Harrassed & Detained For Carrying Cash @ Airpo

One more point. Some have suggested that the actions of this fellow were careless or unwise or what ever.

The point that must be understood is that, this simply doesn’t matter. It isn’t the business of the government to protect an individual from themselves when that individual is doing something lawful. Period. That kind of thinking has led to numerous laws that erode our basic freedom.

So if this guys actions were not the same as what any of us would do, that has no bearing on weather or not the authorities had a right to detain him.

This particular case ought to be important to every one of us. This fellow was carrying cash.

There is an underlying, very important concern here. Cash cannot be traced. The government cannot tell what a person is doing when they buy a book with cash. There isn’t anything to trace.

I am no conspiracy theorist in any way shape or form. I think Ron Paul is kooky on quite a few issues. But THIS issue is important. Cash is a protection against invasive government and EVERYONE ought to be very guarded when the government is asking questions about your cash.

Not true. It was intentionally placed in your pocket using your own hands.

No, not all law breakers get arrested on the spot.
Remember Michelle Obama touched the Queen of England and was NOT arrested yesterday.
