This is one area I really resented about my childhood. I couldn't wait to institute the Holidays into our home. We not only didn't celebrate Christmas, but my Dad made it a very unpleasant time of year with all the arguing and debating and constant talking about how bad it was. Yes, this is one area where I have rebelled against my upbringing, and I'm HAPPY about it.
That's how I feel about it in a nutshell.
P.S. I also eat bacon and rare steaks.

We're not Gentiles, but spiritual Jews with circumsized hearts. Also, purposely eating blood would go against the command given to Noah. Lastly, it is too bad that you rebelled, and as for yourself and the others who have posted here about celebrating xmas, perhaps you should post in tamor's thread, which is about celebrating xmas. I don't go to tamor's thread and argue there.
I also put an X because xmas has NOTHING to do with Christ, and I therefore would not want to use HIS name in vain, in holiday/holy day HE does not want us to celebrate.
I am so glad to see others who have seen the light on this. My younger sister and I have been discussing this topic the last few days and she has seen the light also on this issue, but she is nervous about expressing this to the family, please pray for her that she may have strength to stand for the Truth and not fear man.

Not all or even many see this as truth.
And would you not say your sister is rebelling to go against what she has always been taught as you condemned MB?

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
That's evidently the point of the discussion.
If you have a Christmas tree you are going to hell....

Oh...so this thread is only for those who agree with you? What a brave pioneer you are.
I am a saved Gentile. I thank God that He saved this Gentile!!
You don't understand the meaning of "kosher" if you think that you are following the commandment regarding eating blood by ordering your steak well-done. It has nothing to do with a cooking temperature.

In our home, EVERY day is devoted to the Lord, including Christmas. We make Him and biblical principles the reason for our holidays. It's no different than my husband giving me a Valentine's Day gift and telling me how much he loves me--I already KNOW he loves me every day, but there's nothing wrong with him calling greater attention to it on certain special days. And frankly, I don't care who started Valentine's Day--or why.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
To be fair, I did use the term "rebel" toward myself before SeptSavedTeen did. However, I never rebelled at all, really, in the true sense of the word. Not even as a teenager. I had a few privately wayward moments, and lots of thoughts of committing horribly wicked deeds, but managed to refrain from MOST of them.
Christmas is something I REALLY disagreed with my Dad on, though, and when I married, my husband and I agreed that holidays would be a special time of year in our house. My Dad didn't really like it, but as an adult, I do reserve the right to make my own decisions about what comprises my Christianity and what doesn't. (Obviously ) I don't see that as rebellion. I'm a grown girl--not a child still under my father's roof. And I did NOT flaunt our Christmas celebrations in my Dad's face--ever. It was his birthday, too (the 25th), so there was still cause for celebration in his house.

You have every right to start your own traditions...I do no consider that "Rebelling" either.
And SeptSavedTeen...you're the one who's wrong.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
We don't do x-mas, have no issues with those who do. It has nothing to do with religious reason or God. We give throughout the year!

Your decisions and opinions are to be GOD's and Bible-based if you are truly not your own but bought with a price. I do not believe xmas is a personal conviction, but I believe it is a clear Bible teaching that anyone who had truly considered will come to the same conclusion, and I believe with your upbringing (your father knowing the truth about xmas) you will be judge to a higher standard than someone who celebrated xmas in ignorance. The LORD might beat with many stripes- I do not say this with joy, this is something that saddens and concerns me, and it should do the same for you. I love you with the love of the LORD, to tell you this truth in love.
