That's absurd. Being a mayor of a town of 9,000 people doesn't qualify her to be President over a man who's sat on the Senate foreign relations, veterans affairs, homeland security and government affairs, and the health, education, labor and pensions committees. To say somehow that dealing with the issues in a town pop. 9000 and dealing with the complex issues that are confronted on those committees is completely absurd.
Her experience as Governor for a year and half was helpful without a doubt, but Sara Palin doesn't have any more experience than BO. John McCain could have pointed out that he had much more experience than Obama until he chose Palin and took away his best point.

The political and media elites have been laughing at Sarah Palin’s “small town” years. But every mayor and council member she meets over the next two months will have a bond with her that no one else on the national tickets can match.

She will soon be a friend to every land-owner bedeviled by complicated federal statutes wielded by remote and uncaring federal officials, and to the local elected officials across the country who appreciate exactly what it is that she did for that decade on the Wasilla city council.
Let me tell you a true story. My son was playing baseball and he was the pitcher, and a girl walks up to the plate. He has never played aginst a girl before. He looks at her, looks over at me in the dugout, then looks back at her. He winds up and smack nails her with the ball. When he gets back to the dugout I asked him why. He said if I struck her out I would have been a bully, If I gave up a hit against her I would never live it down, So I gave her the base.
Biden has to watch what he says (and he isn't very good at that) or it could really hurt them.
That's funny. Quick thinking kid.
I know some girls who play circles around guys in soccer and basketball though.

Many John McCain Republicans and other conservatives insist that having an international celebrity with limited governmental experience and no international credentials as president would be a big mistake.
A big mistake like that guy John Kennedy who was a war hero, subject of a bestselling book, author of a Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller, but had only one full term in the Senate. You know, the one who set a goal for a manned moon landing before the end of the 1960s?
A big mistake like Teddy Roosevelt, an international war hero and "father" of the Teddy bear, who only spent some time as a governor, an undersecretary of the Navy, and nine months as vice president. You know, the president who started the National Park System and was the father of the environmental movement.
And then of course there's the big mistake. You know, the Gipper, an international movie celebrity whose only governmental experience was as governor of California and who had no international experience outside his movies.
So, if an international celebrity with no international governmental experience has been canonized by Republicans and conservatives as the greatest president of the 20th century, why isn't Barack Obama - who has served in state and federal government - equally or even more qualified?
That's funny. Quick thinking kid.

Truth is that young lady could play circles around most boys. Her dad is an entertainment law attorney whose clients are all professional baseball players, and he played college basketball.

I read the article and still am not sure why I'm being asked to believe she can deal with a federal budget or this countries foreign policy issues.
Because of this paragraph:
Quote:
But by a very large measure these mayors, council members and commissioners are genuine public servants –and they get very smart, very fast about the communities they serve and the real successes and failures that define American life, whether in Wasilla, Alaska or Dearborn, Michigan or Sharon, PA.
That paragraph rings a lot of truth, Mike.
I have a friend that is Mayor in a smaller town than Palin governed and he has to deal with a myriad of issues. I have several friends on City Council in two adjoining towns. They were having some real big time issues and one of my friends brought her Council lawyer to the meeting in the other town because they were to poor to hire one. The woman did it as a favor.
She called and discussed all the legal ramifications they had to follow to get things done correctly and for the people. Lots of crooked dealings going on. The legal issues were so involved. They had to study them out and be confirmed by a lawyer to proceed. They had to be instructed on how to conduct themselves at the City Counsel meeting in order to resolve the issues and get the current Mayor voted out. He was a crook and so were the policemen he hired. No background checks and he was refusing to allow it. Just a lot of stuff.
So, the article is right - you get smart real quick and you are working with actual people, governance. It doesn't matter how big or small. You're doing it. I've seen this take place just recently in my area.
