It's a Choice
Mark many of our people are like dumb blind sheep. Whatever their pastor says is the absolute truth without any examination on their part. Whatever comes out of the org is the absolute truth. So when men in high places start teaching this stuff it can very well trickle down to other Pastors who will teach it to their saints. Sure they have a choice, but many have given up their choice to think for themselves many many years ago.

If this stuff is not nipped in the bud it can infiltrate all of the UPC. It already seems to be spreading now!

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

with Magic Hair, you dont see ANY opposition from ANY leadership. THIS is what I fear. This is why I think it is dangerous.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I won't be going. The problem is many others ARE going or those that hold these views are preaching it in our churches and other pastors are jumping on the band wagon without really examining it

I think that would fly in the face of what the org is currently promoting. We are trying desperately to prove the WPF wrong. Trying to prove we are not liberal.

An article like that would give them fodder.
I don't think his position would be against his early stance, some clarification or further thinking, but he doesn't believe the magic stuff, no one knows what the significance of angels means and he doesn't feel it to be salvic. But he does feel the current teaching troubling enought to possiblely in my own thinking to refute it.

Re: When Will A Respected and Influential Leader S

Sis Patty Twyman took down her hair to summon the power of the angels over the prayer requests. Many prayers were answered.

When statements and pictures like these are published on an official website ... w/o concern to attributing answered prayers to the power of angels summoned by hair .... and this is not a big deal ...

I'm ....
