I know that in Bible times a lot of people had a beard.
I never like beards myself even before I came to Church so this predates "convictions" but I hate shaving too! LOL!

I think (personally in my own view) that clean shaven is preferred.

I don't have anything against those who grow beards.

It is a personal preference.

You only wish...no discrepancy here.

On another note, we went to a large Baptist church last night to watch the passion play of Denver, and but for a few scenes, it was a sleeper. Jesus, however was great. It is too bad UPC churches make Jesus wear that long robe throughout, it takes away from the realism...

I don't get it, they allow beards and makeup but they make Jesus wear those Ebenezer Scrooge pajamas.

The Easter Drama at the big UPC here in Denver is the best I have ever seen (despite the robe...)! Now I can appreciate all the yelling during rehersals.

The Jesus in the drama I saw last night was awesome - very real and even personable....so much so, that when he was walking down the aisle he shook my hand and told me he was glad I was there last night!!!!!

He quoted scripture like a champ and talked in a normal voice and was even funny at times.

The funniest part of the drama was there were some southern accents for sure.....it was great though!

Last year my daughter attended an Easter drama with a friend at a very large Charismatic church around here.

Jesus had a "pink" heart on his cheek. Don't know what that was about.
She got up and left!

Maybe it was a birthmark.

Or maybe his baby daughter put a sticker there and he forgot about it. I've done that before, you ought to have seen the funny looks the guys at the hardware store were giving me. "Here Daddy, here is a pink heart sticker..."
