My daddy could hardly afford to give anythng back- he usually just made enough to get from one revival to the other, and keep his tithe and dues paid up. Sometimes we'd have a little bit to go shopping at the local Goodwill. We lived for MONDAYS!!!! LOL

My cousin would tell stories of their deputation when the church wouldn't be able to give them enough to pay for gas to get to the next church, but somehow they always made it.

If the family is large enough the car is easier to push.

I watched my mom sacrifice everything that she ever held close to her heart, such as watches, wedding band, accordian...even dad's guitar would get 'pawned' at times. He never preached for the money...he did it because that's what God called him to do. Mom told me last week, it was some of the happiest years of their life together, and she would do it all over again. *smile*
