Re: One Accord's Wife Passed Away 2/6 at 1:07 a.m.

Bro. Rick,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. In times like these we are all made to realize how foolish we are to get so caught up in things that are inconsequential, things that take us away from what really matters. I pray for the comforting presence of the Lord to abide in you as you walk this lonely walk. May you be found upon the rock and beneath the covert of His wings!

MichaelPhelps and Rick,

I was just sitting here thinking about how I can, in my heart, see Sis Phelps searching out one of Heaven's newest arrivals and introducing herself. She'd say, "Sis Lola, I'm so happy to meet you. My son and your husband are good friends from the Apostolic Friends Forum. Come. Let me show you around. Let's go worship at the throne of Jesus together."

Can you just see it, Mike?

Rick, I am soooooooo sorry for your loss. But oh so very thrilled for your precious wife. She as attained her goal.

I want to share a song with you. I wish I could find it on YouTube, but the words are the important part anyway
If You Could See Me Now

If You Could See Me Now
(Kim Noblitt)

Our prayers have all been answered. I finally arrived.
The healing that had been delayed has now been realized.
No one's in a hurry. There's no schedule to keep.
We're all enjoying Jesus, just sitting at His feet.

Cho: If you could see me now, I'm walking streets of gold.
If you could see me now, I'm standing strong and whole.
If you could see me now, you'd know I've seen His face.
If you could see me now, you'd know the pain is erased.
You wouldn't want me to ever leave this place,
If you could only see me now.

My light and temporary trials have worked out for my good,
To know it brought Him glory when I misunderstood.
Though we've had our sorrows, they can never compare.
What Jesus has in store for us, no language can share. (Chorus twice)

You wouldn't want me to ever leave this perfect place
If you could only see me now
If you could see me now
If you could only see me now

Kim Noblitt, (c) 1992 Integrity's Praise/BMI and Dad and Dann Music
Sung by Truth (Russ Lee, soloist) on "Something to Hold On To," 1992.

My heart and prayers are with you, Bro. Rick...it is in these moments that we truly realize the love of the Comforter.

May it be so with you today and in the days to come...

Re: One Accord's Wife Passed Away 2/6 at 1:07 a.m.

Br. Rick- my husband took care of his first wife who died of cancer after a 10 year battle. He said that Hospice really helped him understand the grieving process. I don't know if you have access to that or not. There are some good books on grief, that you might want to read. Today you probably feel numb and like you are walking in a dream. There is light at the end of the tunnel- you will live to laugh and enjoy life again. I do need to share with you that you do have wounds that you are not really aware of yet. I am not talking about just the loss of your wife. It will take time for those wounds to heal. My husband did pretty good during the months after her death, but about a year after her death, he sunk into a depression that he really struggled with. The depression manifested itself in physical terms, he felt like he was sick, different aches and pains, and experienced a feeling of hopelessness. After struggling with this for several months he did go to the doctor who put him on anti depressants. He did not want to do this, but the pills did help. He stayed on them about 3 months and then weened himself off of them. It was not the end of the depression, but at least he knew what he was dealing with and he knew he could get relief if it got too bad. He began to study in the Bible on the heart, mind and spirit. He poured over the Word of God and in prayer and meditation he began to get some relief. God did deliver him from the depression, but it was a long process. I am sharing this with you so you will know if this happens to you - you are not alone. There is help and do not hesitate to seek that help.
