Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?

"It matters that we not limit the complete work of redemption. The elimination of division of every kind is a part of God’s reconciliation and restoration.

It matters that we understand the nature of mutual love and all of the mutuality that entails. Hierarchy will never allow us to realize the fullness of mutual submission, mutual sacrifice, mutual giving, and mutual honor.

It matters that we give place for the full expression of every person’s unique gifts within the body of Christ. Power structures limit the potential of so many people, but particularly women." Grace

I spoke earlier of my wife, she is very gifted to lead, has a much greater ability to communicate than the majority of men. She never causes me to feel inferior by being who God equipped her to be, I believe this to be the true "one" that God calls marriage. She honors my gifting, and I hers, and we support one another.

True leadership is servanthood, first to God, and second to those around us.

Sis. Willie Johnson was awesome. I am so thankful for her ministry.

On AFF, this debate usually has one extremely upset man taking on 30 of us. Some of us going to the Word and interacting quite well. Others throwing emotional bombs, some posters taking it personal and defending their missionary record, and still others full of red herrings. I think the topic deserves more respect in the form of debate than it's had on here.
I don't want to look it up...what are "complimentarians?"

WIKI:
Complementarianism is a theological view held by many in Christianity and other world religions that men and women have different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage, family life, religious leadership, and elsewhere.

or those whose complementarian view is biblically-prescribed, these separate roles preclude women from specific functions of ministry within the church.[1] It assigns leadership roles to men and support roles to women, based on the interpretation of certain biblical passages. One of its precepts is that while women may assist in the decision making process, the ultimate authority for the decision is the purview of the male in marriage, courtship, and in the polity of churches subscribing to this view. The best-known formal statement of such views is the Danvers Statement which serves as an overview of the core beliefs of proponents of complementarianism.[2]

Basically, I side more with male-led eldership.

Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?

Well to the surprize of many i too think male leadership is the best plan however i know many times there is only a woman....and I think God does call certain women but I think He who calls if she is really called gives us enough sense to know how to act and behave in the presence of Godly men...and I do not think God is sending women to hell for doing what I have done for almost 43 years...he may send some to hell for all the money they waste on endless shoppng sprees, and all that is wasted on unneeded things but that goes for men too!
If the gospel is imporant like we say it is then telling the story of Jesus is formost....

Having an adult special needs child helps bring this view into better perspective, my wife and I are a team in this life together. We each do what has to be done, no argument at all about whose role is whose.

Jesus deal with this quiet well when the mother of two disciples got into trying to secure the right to sit on Jesus right and His left in the kingdom.
Jesus' response was clear, "...he that would be great in the kingdom of God, will be servant to all..." Respect, honor and leadership roles are based on God's equipping, not on the sex. A whole lot more would get done if we cared not who got the credit.
