I didn't get the exact wording, but he said something like, "Unless you were regrouping for a different tactic."
So, yes, TM could have been backing off, but he could have been backing off to come back with more force.

I am simply appalled that the State hid the text messaging evidence until right before the beginning of the trial, not allowing the Defense time to recover the data in order to depose every witness.
Wesley White even testified that the State was hiding and may have destroyed evidence.
